Five years ago when I visited the Yemeni town of Rada south of the capital city of San'a, I didn't expect it to ever make the Western press. However, today I read that scores of armed men allegedly affiliated with Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) have taken over the town, raising their banner over the citadel that dominates the town's skyline. Below are some photographs of the town that I took in August 2007. The town was previously most well known for its beautifully restored medieval religious school madrasa, the Amiriyyah.

Islamic State of Iraq First Al-Qa'ida Central Affiliate to Eulogize Shaykh 'Atiyyatullah

The Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) is the first of Al-Qa'ida Central's (AQC) regional affiliates to issue a eulogy statement for Shaykh 'Atiyyatullah al-Libi, Jamal Ibrahim Ishatywi al-Misrati (also known as 'Atiyah 'Abd al-Rahman), who was killed in U.S. drone missile strike in North Waziristan. AQC leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri acknowledged his death and eulogized him in a segment of his eighth installment of his series on post-Mubarak Egypt, A Message of Hope and Glad Tidings to Our People in Libya, which was released on December 2.

( بيانُ تعزيةٍ في مقتل الشيخ أبي عبد الرحمن عطية الله الليبيّ )

الحمد لله ربّ العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على نبيّنا محمّد، وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين... وبعد:

يقول تعالى: {وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ * سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ * وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ} [محمد: 4-6].

فبنفوسٍ متعلّقة برحمة الله وقلوب راضية بقضاءه وقدره، تلقّينا الخبر المؤلم الذي أعلنه إخوتنا في تنظيم القاعدة بمقتل بطلٍ آخر من أبطال هذه الأمّة، ورجل من خيرِ رجالاتها،لم نسمع منه إلا ما تزداد به نفوس المسلمين عزّة وثباتاً واطمئناناً، ألا وهو الشّيخ العالم، والمهاجر المجاهد، والحييّ النّاصح الزاهد أبو عبد الرحمن عطيّة الله الليبيّ، في زمرة مؤمنةٍ من أهل بيته وأصحابه بغارةٍ غادرةٍ جبانة.. فإنّا لله وإنّا إليه راجعون.

لقد ترجّل فارسنا وقد صدق ما عاهد الله عليه –نحسبُه كذلك- بعد مسيرةٍ طويلةٍ حافلة بالهجرة والجهاد والدّعوة، وشرى نفسه بدينه وأخوته فأكرمه الله بالشهادة، فهنيئاً له ما ناله..

نحن أناسٌ لا نرى القتل سبَّةً ... على أحدٍ يحمي الذمار ويمنعُ

بنو الحرب أُرضعنا بهِ، غير فُحَّشٍ ... ولا نحن مما جرَّت الحرب نفْزَعُ

جِلادٌ على ريب الحوادث لا ترى ... على هالكِ عينٌ لنا الدهر تدمعُ

ووالله إنّا لنحسب أنّه قد أدّى ما عليه في الدّعوة لدين الله والجهاد في سبيل ذلك بالنفس والأهل والمال، حتى كتب الله له القبول في نفوس من عرفه من المسلمين، ونحسبُه عند الله ممّن صحّ فيهم الأثر المرويّ عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه أنّه قال:
((مرّوا بجنازة فأثنوا عليها خيراً، فقال النّبي صلى الله عليه وسلم (وجَبَتْ). ثمّ مرّوا بأخرى فأثنوا عليها شراً فقال: (وجَبَتْ)، فقال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه: ما وجبت؟، قال: (هذا أثْنَيتُم عليهِ خَيْراً فوجَبتْ له الجنّة، وهذا أثنيتُم عليه شراً فوجبتْ له النّار، أنتُم شهداءُ الله في الأرض).

فالله نسألُ أنْ يرزقه الفردوس الأعلى، ويبارك في دمائه وأشلائه، وأن يجيرَنا وهذه الأمّة المكلومة ويرحمنا في مُصابنا بأمثال هؤلاء، ويخلفنا خيراً منهم، وأن يُكرم الشّيخ بما كانَ يبتغيه فيتقبّله في الشّهداء، ويُحسِن العزاء لذويه ورفقاء دربه، وعلى رأسهم الإمامان الفاضلان الشّيخ الدّكتور أيمن الظواهري والشّيخ أبو يحيى الليبيّ حفظهما الله وعظّم أجرهما وثبّت أقدامهما وعوّضهما خيراً ممّا فات ونصرهما على أعداء الملّة والدّين.

{وَاللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَى أَمْرِهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَعْلَمُونَ}

Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen's Press Office Releases Details of Burundian AMISOM Soldiers Slain at the Battle of Dayniile in Late October

Harakat al-Shabab spokesman 'Ali Mahamoud Rage ('Ali Dheere) holding up a cross necklace or rosary belonging to a slain Burundian soldier at a press conference following fierce fighting between insurgent forces and Burundian soldiers from AMISOM in Dayniile, Mogadishu in late October.

The press office of the Somali insurgent movement Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen (Al-Shabaab) released a statement today, accompanied with photographs and a one-page data sheet, about some of the Burundian soldiers killed in fierce fighting with insurgent forces in Dayniile, a suburb of Mogadishu, in late October. The release of this information lends further credence to Harakat al-Shabab leaders' claims that a significant number of Burundian soldiers were indeed killed, despite denials from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). However, the question arises why the insurgent movement did not release more photographs of captured ID cards. The release of such information has frequently been done in the past by Al-Shabab as a media-savvy way of proving its claims that it has killed AMISOM soldiers and captured enemy equipment following vigorous denials from AMISOM spokesmen and officials.

Mogadishu, Somalia (12/12/2011) – In response to requests from some families in Burundi, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen has decided to publish the details of some of the Burundian soldiers killed during the heavy battles in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. With lack of verification from the Burundian Army, family members of the slain soldiers have contacted Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen in an appeal to confirm the fate of their missing soldiers. Responding to the pleas of ten families in Burundi, attached here are the identity cards and a supplementary table detailing the full names, ranks, specialities, dates of birth, town, province, vital statistics, badge numbers, blood groups, and religious beliefs of the soldiers. Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen also opens the doors of communication to all families in Burundi who suspect that their sons have been killed in Somalia and those willing to discover the fate of their missing soldiers. Families can file for a Missing Soldier Verification Request by forwarding the full name of the missing soldier to the War Statistics Office (WSO), quoting reference number BR/4539, no later than the 20th of December 2011. Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb Statement on Captured French 'Spies' and Europeans in Mali

Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) originally emerged from insurgent factions in Algeria but has grown and spread over the past several years to parts of Mali, Niger, and Mauritania. The group alleges that two of the five Europeans it seized in Mali are French spies.

تنظيم القاعدة ببلاد المغرب الاسلامي

تبنّي اختطاف جاسوسين فرنسيين وثلاثة أوروبيين بمالي

الحمد لله وليّ الصَّالحين، والعاقبة للمتّقين ولا عدوان إلا على الظَّالمين، والصَّلاة والسّلام على المبعوث بالسيف رحمة للعالمين، وعلى آله وصحبه الطّاهرين، أمّا بعد:

يقول الله عز و جلّ: "فَمَنِ اعْتَدَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُوا عَلَيْهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا اعْتَدَى عَلَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ " (البقرة:194). يسرّنا في هذا البيان أن نُبشّر إخواننا المسلمين ونعلن للرأي العام مسئولية التنظيم عن العمليتين البطوليتين الناجحتين اللتين نفّذهما المجاهدون الأبطال في مالي:

العملية الأولى: ليلة الخميس 24/11/2011م شرق مالي، حيث تمكنت زمرة من مجاهدي مغرب الإسلام من اختطاف رجلين من المخابرات الفرنسية :"فيليب فاردون" و"سيرج لازيرفيك".
العملية الثانية: يوم الجمعة 25/11/2011م بمدينة "تيمبوكتو" بمالي، حيث وفّق الله عزّ وجلّ زمرة ثانية من أحفاد يوسف بن تاشفين لاختطاف 3 أوربيين آخرين.

ومن جهة ثانية: فإننا ننفي مسؤولية التنظيم عن عملية خطف الأوربيين بمخيّمات تيندوف بالجزائر.
كما نعلن عبر هذا البيان بأن المجاهدين سيبلغون مطالبهم المشروعة لفرنسا ومالي لاحقا.

وقد جاء اختطاف الجاسوسين الفرنسيين والأوربيين الثلاثة في سياق العدوان المتكرر لفرنسا ضد المسلمين بدول الساحل، وكرد فعل مشروع على السياسات الحمقاء المستمرة لساركوزي، وقد اختار المجاهدون أرض مالي عن قصد لتنفيذ العمليتين نظرا للتورط المتكرر غير المبرر لنظام آمادو توري في حرب المجاهدين رضوخا منه للضغوطات الفرنسية والأمريكية ونذكر من ذلك:

• اعتقال الأخ المجاهد محمد الأمين ولد امبالة المعروف بمعاوية وتسليمه إلى النظام الموريتاني العميل.
• اعتقال الأخ المجاهد أبي سعيد الأزوادي .
• اعتقال الأخ أبي يونس المالي .
• المشاركة مع موريتانيا في الحملات العسكرية الأخيرة ضد المجاهدين بغابة "واغادو" .
• تسخير مطار "منكة" للجيش الفرنسي كقاعدة جوية ينطلق منها الصليبيون للهجوم على المجاهدين.

وعليه فإننا نوجه رسالة للعقلاء في النظام المالي:

أنّ الاعتداءات المتكررة على المجاهدين بقتالهم وأسرهم إرضاء لأمريكا وفرنسا ساركوزي، هي سياسة خاطئة وظالمة تنافي الشرع والعقل، ولن تمر دون عقاب، ولن تجلب لكم غير ويلات حرب أنتم في غنى عنها فاتعظوا وراجعوا أنفسكم وانتهوا عن قتل وأسر المسلمين إرضاء للكفرة الصليبيين.

ورسالة ثانية نوجهها للرئيس الفرنسي ساركوزي:

ها قد انضاف لرعاياك الأربعة المأسورين في آرليت فرنسيان آخران من رعاياك تتحمل أنت وحدك تبعات أسرهم، وهي أرقام لا تذكر أمام الآلاف من قتلى وجرحى وأسرى المسلمين المكتوين بنار مظالمكم في أفغانستان وغيرها، فإن شئت فإنك تملك الحفاظ على حياتهم وإطلاق سراحهم في أقرب وقت بالاستجابة لمطالب المجاهدين المشروعة، وإن شئت فإنك تملك قرار قتلهم سواءً برفضك لذلك أو تسرعك وارتكابك لأيّة حماقة أخرى غير محسوبة.

وآخر دعوانا أن الحمد لله رب العالمين.

Afghanistan Taliban Leadership Denies & Condemns 'Ashura Attacks in Kabul & Mazar-i Sharif in Statement

The leadership council of the Afghanistan Taliban have issued a statement today strongly denying and condemning the December 6 bombings targeting Afghan Twelver Shi'is in the cities of Kabul and Mazar-i Sharif, which killed 80 people. The Kabul attack, a suicide bombing, is the country's first large-scale sectarian attack, which has raised fears of sectarian violence. However, this fear is likely overblown. The Afghan Taliban almost immediately denied responsibility and suspicion has fallen on Lashkar-i Jhangvi (LJ), whose name translates to the "Army of Jhangvi," referring to an assassinated militant Pakistani Sunni cleric., Maulana Haqq Nawaz Jhangvi, the founder of Sipah-i Sahaba (Soldiers of the Prophet's Companions).

The Afghan Taliban, though it is opposed to Shi'i theology and ritual practices, as it is opposed to many practices by Sunni Sufis and other Sunnis that don't conform to its rigid doctrinal outlook, has little to gain from perpetrating such an attack. Their leadership council's statement also expresses condolences to the families of the victims and survivors and urges Afghan Shi'i 'ulama (religious scholars) to help them ensure that these attacks will not lead to wider sectarian violence in the country. This, even granted that it is partly rhetoric, is significantly different to the ultra and even boastful sectarianism of Al-Qa'ida in the Land of the Two Rivers/Iraq (AQI) and the increasing anti-Shi'ism of Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), at least vis-a-vis the Huthi Movement.

Sipah-i Sahaba is also virulently anti-Shi'i and extremely violent. In fact it's sole purpose is violent sectarianism. The group arose in the 1980s, in part, as a reaction to increasing Pakistani Shi'i political mobilization following the Iranian Revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the guidance of Grand Ayatullah Ruhullah Musavi Khumayni. The violent sectarian Pakistani groups, both Sunni and Shi'i, mix political motives with religious ones to create a particularly virulent strain of religio-political (or politicized religious) ideology.

Lashkar-i Jhangvi has denied responsibility for and condemned the attacks. A man named 'Ali Sher-i Khoda who claimed to be the spokesman for a new Afghan militant group told the BBC in an interview in Pakistani Baluchistan (Balochistan) that his group was behind the attacks. He said that they had been inspired by Lashkar-i Jhangvi. The truth of his claim is unclear and is currently being debated. The Afghan government has blamed the attacks on Lashkar-i Jhangvi. A number of leaders of the Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an umbrella for dozens of Pakistani Pashtun militias in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), including Hakimullah Mehsud, were affiliated with sectarian Pakistani outfits like Lashkar-i Jhangvi and Sipah-i Sahaba.

Report on the gathering of the Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate and its statement regarding the

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

On the day of Ashura, 10^th of Muharram 1433, inexplicable bombings took place in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif in which tens of our defenseless countrymen were soaked in their blood and their families left in utter grief. This incident was also strongly rejected and condemned by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the initial hours. Yesterday on the 15/01/1433, the Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate held an important council about this topic. Intense discussions were held regarding these incidents which were described as a pre-planned plot of the defeated enemy and it was stressed that our vigilant nation must pay astute attention to such actions of our enemy and nobody should be allowed to reach their sinister goals by creating rifts and divisions amongst our united people on the basis of religion, race, language or region.

Similarly, the political and religious sides of our country were asked to put the benefits of our country and people ahead of their own or organizations benefits and such actions not be undertaken to achieve their political aims which would mean nothing other then adding fuel to the fire which has been lit by our enemy against the unity of our people and country. It was also said that in these tender moments in which our enemy is on the verge of fleeing, it is going back to its natural habit and reaching for grief stricken moments like the day of Ashura so it can divide the unified Afghan people because the enemy wants to take revenge from our suffering people for their own failures. Our alert and unified nation will never be deceived by such plans of our enemy but rather they will also thwart this plan like all the previous ones. In the end of the gathering, the below statement was issued after much deliberation:

The Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate wants to extend its condolence to the affectees and once against strongly condemns such acts.
Islamic Emirate considers such incidents the plots and acts of the invaders and the enemies of Afghanistan and calls on all its countrymen to lend each other hands and cooperate with each other in preventing such incidents in accordance with their national and religious duty because such acts of the enemy are against all our countrymen and are detriment to our beloved Afghanistan.
Islamic Emirate personally asks the scholars and leaders of Afghanistan’s Ahl Tashi’ (Shiite) to be very vigilant regarding this matter and they should inform their people that this incident can never be considered a topic of enmity between Sunni and Shiite. They should never lend an ear to the internal agents who want to paint this as an internal and religious strife for serving their own interests and for pleasing their masters.
Islamic Emirate gives guidance to all of its Mujahideen to pay attention to preventing such acts from taking place alongside their other duties.

The 'Abdullah 'Azzam Brigades, a jihadi-takfiri group based in Lebanon and the Levant, issued a eulogy today for Shaykh 'Atiyyatullah al-Libi, Jamal Ibrahim Ishtaywi al-Misrati (also known as 'Atiyah 'Abd al-Rahman), the senior Al-Qa'ida Central (AQC) ideologue and alleged operational leader who was killed in a U.S. drone missile strike in late August. AQC's amir, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, acknowledged 'Atiyyatullah's death in the eighth installment of his series of messages on post-Hosni Mubarak Egypt, A Message of Hope and Glad Tidings to Our People in Egypt, which was released on December 2.

Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula, Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), AQC's official regional affiliates, have yet to issue eulogies for 'Atiyyatullah. This may reflect on how "wired" the media departments of each are on a daily basis or on the present nature of communication links between them and AQC.

Eulogies have been released by several jihadi-takfiri Internet forums, Hani al-Siba'i, Somalia's Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen, Masadat al-Mujahideen (Place of the Lions, the Mujahideen) in Palestine, and Ansar al-Islam in Iraq.

الحمد لله القائل:﴿وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُؤَجَّلًا﴾، والصلاة والسلام على من جاهد في سبيل الله حق جهاده وعلى آله وصحبه ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين، أما بعد:

فقد تلقينا بقلوب مؤمنة بقضاء الله وقدره، خبر استشهاد فضيلة الشيخ المجاهد عطية الله أبي عبد الرحمن، جمال إبراهيم المصراتي بعد تاريخ حافل بالهجرة والجهاد وطلب العلم والثبات، نحسبه والله حسيبه ممن نذر نفسه لنصرة أمّته ولرفع الذل والهوان الذي قيدها في عقود من الزمان. فجمع بين فضل الجهاد وفضل طلب العلم، وأبى إلا أن يكون في عداد النخبة الأخيار، ومن طلاب الشهادة، قال الله تعالى: ﴿قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلَّا إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا فَتَرَبَّصُوا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُتَرَبِّصُونَ﴾__ (الآية 52 التوبة).

كما لا يفوتنا أن نعزي حكيم الأمة الأمير الفذّ، الشيخ الدكتور أيمن الظواهري حفظه الله ومن معه، وأدامهم شوكة في حلوق الكفار والمنافقين، بفقدان أخيهم ورفيق دربهم، فلتصبروا ولتصابروا، فلابد من الموت، والحمد لله على موتة الأشراف وموتة يرضاه الله ورسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم. وإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون وإنا على فراقك يا عطية الله لمحزونون.

وليعلم أعداء الله في مشارق الأرض ومغاربها، أن استشهاد إخواننا ما هو إلا وقود لحرب ستقتلع الأخضر واليابس حتى يقام شرع الله وتعود العزة لأمة الإسلام، والله غالب على أمره ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون.

Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan Announces the 'Martyrdom' of 87 Members in 2011, Including Top Commander 'Abbas Mansur

The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), a transnational jihadi-takfiri movement based in Waziristan, Pakistan but with units across many of the Pakistani Pashtun tribal agencies, announced earlier this week the names of 87 of its members that were killed in 2011. They were presumably killed either in U.S. drone missile strikes or in fighting with the Pakistani army or Frontier Corps. The IMU has particularly close ties to the Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Among the killed is a top IMU military commander, 'Abbas Mansur (Abbas Mansoor) from Kyrgystan, and 'Abdul 'Aziz Ukasha from Teshkent, Uzbekistan, who was previously billed as a "journalist" for the IMU media department, Jundullah (God's Soldiers) Studio. Mansur was a longtime member of the IMU and a close aid to the movement's late leader, Tahir Yuldashev, also known as Muhammad Tahir "Faruq," who died of wounds sustained in a U.S. drone missile strike in 2010.

Ukasha was featured prominently in a number of the IMU's video productions, as was Mansur.

Mansur was recently featured prominently in the second installment of Jundullah Studio's video series Glad Tidings from Pakistan. He has also been pictured previously alongside the IMU's new amir, Abu Usman Adil.

Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen Statement Rejects Legitimacy of the United Nations

The rejection is unsurprising considering the fact that it is the United Nations that has legitimized the African Union's military mission in Somalia, the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) force, which is nearing 10,000 soldiers.

For Immediate Release Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen does not Recognize the UN as a Legitimate Authority

Mogadishu (09/12/2011) – The visit by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to Mogadishu at this critical time in Somalia’s political situation is a futile attempt aimed at boosting the drained morale of the African Union soldiers in Somalia as well as their Kenyan counterparts whose forces have recently been bled dry militarily as well as economically by the Mujahideen. And with the Kenyan invasion staggering to achieve its objectives, a declining public support, at home as well here as in Somalia, and an acute shortage of finances to maintain the military operation have led the Kenya Defence Force to pursue an alternative course of action; a marriage of convenience under AMISOM flag. The decision taken by the Kenyan forces to operate under the African Union in Somalia stands as a true testament to the failure of the so-called Operation Linda Nchi whose real aim was to invade Somalia.

Having failed to receive the promised military and financial support, the Kenyan government opted to join the AU after an endorsement by the parliament, revealing their willingness to pursue every available avenue in their invasion and proving that the operation was not embarked on in response to the kidnapping of aid workers and tourists from Kenyan territory, as alleged, but rather to subjugate the people of Somalia in the regional scramble for the East African Horn.

The United Nations has also confirmed its full commitment to supporting the Kenyan invasion of Somalia and by funding Kenyan operations now under AMISOM, the UN has clearly demonstrated its contentment with the continuous air raids that target innocent civilians in Somalia; the latest being Thursday’s bombardment of Baardheere, Gedo reigion. Harakat Al Shabaab Al Mujahideen pledges to multiply its effort in order to counter the UN-sponsored terrorism that threatens the lives of millions of Somalis living in south and central Somalia and defend the sovereignty of our nation from the aggressive invasion of the allied foreign forces at all cost.

We hereby clarify that we do not recognize the United Nations, or any of its institutions and affiliates, as legitimate authorities to regulate or govern the affairs of our nation and we will not accept any compromise when it comes to our religion.

Ayman al-Zawahiri Issues Demands for Release of U.S. Hostage Warren Weinstein

The amir of Al-Qa'ida Central (AQC), Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, in a segment of his eighth installment of the series A Message of Hope and Glad Tidings to Our People in Egypt on post-Hosni Mubarak Egypt, which was released on December 2, claimed that his group is holding a U.S. citizen hostage. Warren Weinstein is a former USAID worker who has lived in Pakistan for the past five years. He was abducted in the city of Lahore four months ago.

In another segment of al-Zawahiri's video the Egyptian medical doctor announced the death of senior AQC ideologue 'Atiyyatullah al-Libi in a U.S. drone missile strike in Pakistan.

As for the message of affirmation and solidification, it is a message to our prisoners of al-Qaida and Taliban soldiers and our female prisoners in the prisons of the Crusaders and their helpers. I say to them: we have not forgotten about you, and we won’t forget you Allah-willing, and in order to release you, Allah has graced us to capture the Jewish American Warren Weinstein, the former and current contractor with the American government in the American aid program to Pakistan, which aims at fighting Jihad in Pakistan and Afghanistan. And just as Americans arrest all those who tey suspect are connected to al-Qaida and the Taliban and even from a far distance, we have detained this man who has been involved in the American aid to Pakistan since the seventies.
And our demands for his release are:

1- Lifting the sanctions entirely on the movement of individuals and products between Egypt and Gaza

2- Halting all kinds of [air] raids by America and her allies in Pakistan and Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia and Gaza

3- Releasing all those arrested on the charge of belonging to al-Qaida or the Taliban even if they were handed to another country like ‘Abu Musaab al-Suri,’ and even if they were non-Muslims, and to drop all the charges directed to them, stopping any legal pursuit of them, and transferring them to the place they choose, dignified and endeared.

4- Releasing all the prisoners in Guantanamo and the American rendition prisons, and shutting down the [GTMO] prison and these [rendition] prisons.

5- Releasing Sayyid Nosair, Ramzi Yousef and those with them, and dropping all the charges directed to them, stopping their pursuit and returning them to the place they choose, dignified and endeared.

6- Releasing Shaykh Omar Abdulrahman, and dropping all the charges against him and stopping any legal pursuit of him, and returning him to his nation, dignified and endeared.

7- Releasing the family of Shaykh Usama bin Laden, and directing no charges to them, and returning them to their nations, dignified and endeared, and halting any investigations with or pursuing them.

8- Releasing all the female prisoners who were detained on charges of belonging to al-Qaida and the Taliban like Aafia Siddiqui, and Hasna’, widow of Abu Hamza al-Muhajer—may Allah have mercy on him—and others, and dropping all the charges against them, and halting any legal pursuit of them, and deporting them to the place they choose, dignified and endeared.

And before I conclude my statement, I direct a word to the family of this hostage, and I say to them: your government is torturing our prisoners, and we did not torture your prisoner; your government signed the Geneva [Convention] agreements and then threw them into the trash. And we did not sign the Geneva agreements, and despite that we are kindly treating your prisoner. This is one.

The second, I warn you about the lies and manipulation of Obama, as he wishes to kill this man in order to be relieved from the hardship of his problem. Obama is a liar; he lied, is lying and will lie. And he may say to you ‘I sought to release your relative but al-Qaida was rigid,’ so don’t believe him. And he may say to you ‘I tried to communicate with them but they didn’t respond,’ so don’t believe him, and he may say to you ‘I’m sacrificing all of my efforts to release your relative.’ So don’t believe him.

The third, I assure you that your problem is not with us but it is with Obama. We demand fair demands, their principle is the release of our prisoners and halting the aggression your government is practicing against us to a stop. So continue pressuring Obama if you want to regain your relative. Obama has the legitimacy, capability and the authority to release your relative, and by a simple signature from him he could solve the problem in seconds. Obama can liberate of your relative, and he could keep him in prison for long years, and he can—if he commits stupidity—kill him, so continue pressuring him and do not stop following him and do not believe his lies.

’Hope and glad tidings for our people in Egypt’ could also be a message of hope and glad tidings for our brothers in prison.

And our last prayer is praise Allah Lord of the Worlds, and prayer and peace upon our master Muhammad and upon his family and companions.

أما رسالة التأييد والتثبيت، فهي رسالة لأسرانا من جنود القاعدة والطالبان ولأسيراتنا المظلومات في سجون الصليبيين وأعوانهم، فأقول لهم أننا لم ننسكم، ولن ننساكم بإذن الله، وأننا من أجل الإفراج عنكم قد وفقنا الله -سبحانه وتعالى- لأسر الأمريكي اليهودي وارن وينجستين، الموظف السابق والمتعاقد حاليا مع الحكومة الأمريكية في برنامج المساعدات الأمريكية لباكستان، الذي يهدف إلى محاربة الجهاد في باكستان وأفغانستان، وكما يعتقل الأمريكان كل من يشكون في صلته بالقاعدة وطالبان ولو من طرف بعيد، فقد اعتقلنا هذا الرجل الضالع في المساعدة الأمريكية لباكستان منذ السبعينيات.
ومطالبنا للإفراج عنه هي:
(1) رفع الحصار بصورة كاملة عن تنقل الأفراد والبضائع بين مصر وغزة.
(2) إيقاف كل أنواع القصف من أمريكا وحلفائها في باكستان وأفغانستان واليمن والصومال وغزة.
(3) الإفراج عن كل من اعتقل بتهمة انتمائه للقاعدة والطالبان. حتى لو كان قد سلم لدولة أخرى مثل أبي مصعب السوري، وحتى لو كان من غير المسلمين. وإسقاط كل التهم الموجهة له والكف عن أية ملاحقة قانونية له، وترحيله للمكان الذي يختاره معززا مكرما.
(4) الإفراج عن جميع الأسرى في جوانتانامو والسجون السرية الأمريكية، وإغلاق المعتقل وتلك السجون.
(5) الإفراج عن عن سيد نصير ورمزي يوسف ومن معهما. وإسقاط كل التهم الموجهة لهم والكف عن أية ملاحقة قانونية لهم، وترحيلهم للمكان الذي يختارونه معززين مكرمين.
(6) الإفراج عن الشيخ عمر عبد الرحمن، وإسقاط كل التهم الموجهة له والكف عن أية ملاحقة قانونية له، وإعادته لوطنه معززا مكرما.
(7) الإفراج عن أهل الشيخ أسامة بن لادن، وعدم توجيه أية تهمة لهم، وإعادتهم لأوطانهم معززين مكرمين، والكف عن أية تحقيقات أو ملاحقة لهم.
(8) الإفراج عن جميع الأسيرات اللاتي اعتقلن بتهمة الانتماء للقاعدة أو الطالبان مثل عافية صديقي وحسناء أرملة أبي حمزة المهاجر -رحمه الله- وغيرهن، وإسقاط كل التهم الموجهة ضدهن، والكف عن أية ملاحقة قانونية لهن، وترحيلهن للمكان الذي يخترْنه معززات مكرمات.
وقبل أن أختم كلمتي أتوجه بكلمة لأهل هذا الأسير؛ فأقول لهم: إن حكومتكم تعذب أسرانا، ونحن لم نعذبْ أسيركم، وحكومتكم وقعتْ على اتفاقيات جنيف، ثم ألقت بها في المزبلة، ونحن لم نوقعْ على معاهدات جنيف، ومع ذلك نكرم أسيركم، هذه واحدة.
والثانية أني أحذركم من كذب ومراوغة أوباما، فهو يتمنى أن يقتل هذا الرجل، ليستريح من عناء مشكلته، أوباما كذاب، كذب ويكذب وسيكذب، وقد يقول لكم: إنني سعيت في الإفراج عن قريبكم ولكن القاعدة تعنتت، فلا تصدقوه، وقد يقول لكم: إنني حاولت الاتصال بهم، فلم يجيبوا، فلا تصدقوه، وقد يقول لكم: إنني أبذل كل ما في جهدي للإفراج عن قريبكم فلا تصدقوه.
والثالثة أني أؤكد لكم أن مشكلتكم ليست معنا، ولكن مع أوباما، نحن نطالب بمطالب عادلة، أساسها الإفراج عن أسرانا وكف العدوان الذي تمارسه حكومتكم ضدنا، فواصلوا الضغط على أوباما إن أردتم استعادة قريبكم، أوباما يملك الصلاحية والقدرة والسلطة ليفرج عن قريبكم، وبتوقيع بسيط منه يمكن أن يحل المشكلة في ثوان، أوباما يملك أن يحرر قريبكم، ويملك أن يبقيه في الأسر سنينا طوالا، ويملك -لو ارتكب حماقة- أن يقتله، فواصلوا ضغطكم عليه، ولا تكفوا عن ملاحقته، ولا تصدقوا أكاذيبه.
(الأمل والبشر لأهلنا في مصر) أن تكون أيضا رسالة الأمل والبشر لإخواننا في الأسر.
وآخر دعوانا أن الحمد لله رب العالمين، وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وآله وصحبه وسلم.

Q.1. Two years ago the foreign forces gained some areas from Taliban in Kandahar and Helmand provinces. What is the reason that the Taliban are not able to regain those areas?

Ans. If you observe the situation in Helmand and Kandahar closely, you will find that the foreigners have set up their bases only in the central areas of these districts and cannot even move 100 meters away from these centers. In most of these areas the logistics are supplied by air. Thus we can say that they have made no progress in these areas. On the other side you know that in the present partisan or guerrilla war the important thing is to perturb the enemy and to inflict casualties on them and we have done it quite successfully in other parts of the country. You know that in the ‘Badr’ operation this year we have carried out successful combine attacks in the centers and districts of Kandahar and Helmand provinces. All this testify our force and active presence in the region. In Kandahar province some of the regions are occupied by the enemy in a way that they have leveled the houses and the orchards to the ground and human life is made impossible there. Naturally Taliban are also not found there. But in no case can we call it triumph for the enemy.

Q.2. In Kandahar and Helmand, apart from the sporadic attacks, Taliban are quite weak in Panjwai, Zeri, Arghandab, and some other parts of Kandahar province. What is the reason for this in your opinion?

Ans. As far as we know in the above mentioned areas the patrols of the enemy have decreased. So the reaction has also come down comparatively. Secondly in the districts of these provinces, attacks are carried on the daily basis in which tens of internal and external soldiers are killed and heavy losses are inflicted on them which are shared with the media including your one.

Q.3. NATO alliance says that Taliban are confined to some areas in the Southern provinces (e.g. Helmand and Kandahar); if it is true, what is the reason for it?

Ans. The invaders always make these kinds of claims, which we strongly deny. If they are honest in their claim then why cannot they remove Mujahideen from the remaining 'confined' areas? It is clear that their claims of progress are false. Another point is the absence of free international media in southern areas of the country to observe our activities and report it accurately. A few reporters are there but they are being threatened by the internal and external secret services not to report the incidents accurately. Some of the news agencies are even hired to show each and everything intact. The invaders want to show their public that the last year operations have yielded positive results, which is in total contradiction to the reality.

Q.4. Some military observers say that Taliban’s influence is weak in the region as compared to the past; what are the reasons behind it?

Ans. I do not agree with this opinion of the stated observers. If we accept that in some areas the presence of Mujahideen is less, the reason is not the lack of influence but when the enemy increased its attacks in these areas, under planned military tactics we also increased our attacks in other parts. When we notice that public and Mujahideen are both under pressure, simultaneously we open new fronts in other villages and districts. In the same way if one zone is under pressure, we have increased our activities in other zones. Even the enemy admits to this fact. Overall our operations have actually increased instead of decreasing. For example in the year 1431 A.H. in 12 months inside Kandahar, 1078 attacks took place against the enemy. But in the year 1432 A.H. which ended recently, 1588 attacks were carried out, which outnumber the last year by 510. Secondly most of the military observers analyze the situation partially. They always show their analysis through the western media which is always far away from the ground realities. The actual situation on the ground is something much different than their one-sided and biased analysis. We have entered to a new phase in the war where we have been able to inflict heavy losses over the enemy and have significantly reduced our own .

Q.5. Do you have any program to recapture the districts of Panjwai, Zeri, Arghandab and some other areas in Kandahar and Helmand provinces.

Ans. In the aforementioned areas only the centers of Panjwai, Zeri, Arghandab districts are under their control. They live only in their barracks which are heavily guarded by sand bags or concrete walls. The enemy has no control outside the centers of the districts. The disputes among the masses are settled by the concerning authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. So we can say that even now, the support of the people and the control of the above mentioned areas is with the Mujahideen. Our next target is obviously to control the centers of these districts considering the military situation. We have our planning for each and every part of the country.

Q.6. What are the reasons that you have not entered the political process from the military one?

Ans. We have been insisting on a political solution for every minor or major issue instead of force and arrogance. The present situation of war has been imposed upon us. We have been attacked and compelled to pick up arms. By the grace of Allah Almighty, for the last 10 years the enemy has become fully exhausted in the battlefield. As far as political process is concerned, there is a separate commission working for it. Our demands for a political solution have been publicized through the media. We can never tolerate foreign invasion in our country. We want the strict implementation of Islamic rules and regulations. We want Islamic brotherhood and unity among the countrymen. We want cordial relation with the world on the basis of Islamic principles where no one is harmed. But the enemy is extending the occupation and is dreaming for a prolonged subjugation of our country. In these circumstances we are compelled to insist on a military solution rather than political one; because the enemy is not ready to leave our country by political logic and to solve the disputed issues by political negotiations.

Q.7. Do you have any comprehensive program or proposals to solve the Afghan problem?

Ans. As we have said earlier that we have a full fledged Islamic policy for the solution of Afghan problem. First of all we want the liberation of our country. Secondly we believe in the principle of logic and reason to solve disputed matters. This policy has been clearly declared by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.

Q.8. Now as the ‘Loya Jirga’ (grand council) convened by Hamid Karzai has conditionally approved the military bases for Americans for 10 more years, how long will you fight against the foreigners?

Ans. Jihad is a religious obligation upon us. We have no specified time framework for it. When the need for Jihad is ceased, the war will naturally come to an end . It totally depends on the invaders. We will not tire of Jihad because we are fully prepared for it. Training and incitement are going on with full strength and thousands of young men are ready to fight and to sacrifice their lives for the sake of Islam and for the liberation of the country.

Q.9. What are the reasons for your decreased activities in the northern areas especially in Kunduz province?

Ans. Our attacks are well planned in the North of the country especially in Kunduz province; but the chances for a decisive attack is less due to the restricted movement of the troops stationed there (mostly non-Americans) who are fed up with this war and consider it a useless and imposed war. But still we are expanding our presence and operations with the changing circumstances in the whole of the North.

Q. 10. Overall, do you think the military force of Taliban is weaker or stronger as compared to the past and whether the present military situation is encouraging Taliban or NATO?

Ans. In general, the force and influence of Taliban has increased in all areas of Afghanistan because the whole nation has realized that only Mujahideen can liberate the country from the foreign occupation. The resolution of the so called ‘Loya Jirga’ will have a very positive effect on our forthcoming Jihadi modus operandi. The people have realized that the invaders are here for sinister objectives. They want to endanger our religion, prestige and other sanctities at the hands of a few traitors and corrupt agents. They want to keep us as an occupied nation and impose their own systems upon us. I think that the nation will become even more vigilant in the future and will stand shoulder to shoulder with Mujahideen with their full capacity. The level of support and sympathy will rise. Consequently the invaders and their stooges will not have any other option but to face a very disgraceful defeat as the late Soviet Union and their slaves did.

And this is never too hard for Allah Almighty.

A Call for Unity against Occupation of Somalia by the Crusaders

Mogadishu (26/11/2011) – The meeting held by the so-called Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in Addis Ababa on Friday 25th November underlines the malicious intent of the neighbouring countries to destroy Somalia and colonise its people.

IGAD’s unanimous decision to deploy thousands of Ethiopian troops to Somalia comes after the Kenyan army, a non-combat-tested yet highly bumptious force who’ve entered Somalia more than a month ago, failed in their attempts to invade regions of Somalia as a result of the fierce resistance from the Mujahideen forces and local population. The concentration and build-up of Ethiopian troops along the border and some regions of Somalia at this particular phase in the conflict, not only demonstrates the vindictive nature of the Ethiopian army and their aspirations for military reprisals against the Somali population but also clearly illustrates the widespread impotence surrounding the thousands of Kenyan, Burundian and Ugandan forces already waging a brutal war against the people of Somalia.

Ethiopia, an arch-enemy, has been fighting a long and vicious battle to destabilise Somalia for decades. In December 2006, the Ethiopian army invaded Somalia under enormous media publicity in an attempt to control the country and subjugate its people. In their counteroffensive, however, the Somali population responded with quick and intensive surgical strikes as well as a concentrated guerrilla campaign that soon drained the invaders’ ability and defeated the Ethiopian army. Since their defeat in early 2009, the Ethiopian troops have been conducting a series of vengeful attacks against the people of Somalia , before engaging in the conscription and training of local militia to advance the Ethiopian agenda in the destabilisation of the country.

Somalia is going through a historic moment in time and it is the combination of the efforts of its people that will determine the outcome of its future. We therefore urge the Muslims of Somalia to set their differences aside and unite against their common enemy as they have done in the past in order to defend their country as well as their religion from the aggressive invasion of the allied African crusaders. You are facing a barbaric enemy that has no appreciation for the sanctity of human life; be firm and steadfast against them and fight them with all your might.

We also warn the invading Ethiopian forces that you have struggled long and hard to settle in Somalia during your brief occupation in 2006. Know that you are entering Somalia while the corpses of your comrades are still fresh in their graves; and the path that you tread upon today is reminiscent of the path trodden upon by your fellow soldiers yesterday. It is a path that lures you to taste nothing but the bitter depredations of war; for in front of you lies the agony of death, the torment of captivity, the deprivation of comforts, the departure of loved ones and the piercing bullets of strong-willed men with a determination of steel and uncompromising belief. The very men who’ve subjected the might of your army to the ignominious defeat of yesterday are today grinding their swords once again. The people of Somalia shall never accept or live under the humiliation of occupation and the spirit of resistance shall not fade as long as a single invader remains alive on Somali soil.

My New Article at Foreign Policy's AFPAK Channel: "Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan's Hybrid Insurgency"

I have a new article, "The Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan's Hybrid Insurgency: Analyzing Hakimullah Mehsud's Eid al-Adha Message," that was published this afternoon at the AFPAK Channel, a joint project of Foreign Policy magazine and The New America Foundation. I argue that the Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan represents a type of glocal insurgency that utilizes transnational rhetoric and themes in the service of essentially local (in this case country and region-specific goals).

The introduction reads:

"On November 8, a written message from Hakimullah Mehsud, the TTP's amir, was released on jihadi Internet forums on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Islamic holiday that ends the annual Hajj pilgrimage season. The message was released simultaneously in Urdu, Pashtu, Arabic, and English on Internet forums used by transnational Sunni jihadis and their supporters. It was distributed by the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF), a shadowy network of translators and media operatives who produce numerous translations of key jihadi texts, videos, and songs, as well as original material. Earlier this year new videos and written statements from the TTP were being distributed by a branch of the GIMF, Al-Qadisiyyah Media Foundation, which is devoted to translating jihadi texts, primarily from Arabic, into languages of the Indian Subcontinent including Urdu, Bangla, Pashtu, Hindi, and Persian. The shift to GIMF distribution earlier this year suggests that the TTP continues to draw upon the transnational Sunni jihadi rhetoric deployed by groups like al-Qaeda Central (AQC) and its regional affiliates while continuing to maintain a strong focus on waging a domestic insurgency in Pakistan. The result is a type of "glocal" militancy that combines both elements of transnational jihadism with the TTP's more country- and region-specific goals."

Mujahideen Naval Forces Torch Kenyan Military Ships

Mogadishu (20/11/2011) – Divisions from Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen’s Naval Forces stormed and burned military ships patrolling the waters along the Somali Coast , marking the first encounter between the Mujahideen and the invading Kenyan forces at sea.

Using high-powered speed boats and operating stealthily under the cover of darkness, two divisions from the Naval Forces launched a carefully calculated attack on two Kenyan navy ships travelling between the islands of Kudhaa and Madhawo, near Kismayo, at around 0300 hours Sunday morning. In the exchange of gunfire, one of the ships was set ablaze when hit by rocket-propelled grenades, while the other ship escaped unhurt.

The Kenyan ships were reported to have been patrolling the waters for weeks and persistently prohibiting local fishermen from fishing near the islands. In a series of recorded incidents, the Kenyan forces have previously sank at least 1 Somali-owned merchant ship and killed nearly 20 fishermen, thus prompting the Mujahideen Naval Forces to act with fierce force to stop the perpetrators.

On land, a dispatch of the Mujahideen military forces has successfully ambushed a convoy of 6 vehicles transporting Kenyan troops between the towns of Taabta and Dhoobley this morning. Two of the vehicles, including a white Toyota Land-cruiser carrying senior army officials, were burned down in the fire fight that lasted approximately 1 hour, before the Kenyan army fled the scene of the battle. 8 Kenyan soldiers were also killed in the ambush.

With the increased manoeuvres of the invading forces, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen pledges to defend the Muslim people of Somalia from all forms of invasion, ideological as well as physical, which intends to subjugate the population, occupy their territory, plunder their resources and infect the teachings of Islam with the degrading values of democracy.

Interview of Nouakchott News with Khalid Abu Al-Abbas Amir of the Al-Mulathimun brigade from the Qaedat Al-Jihad in the Islamic Maghreb

His real name is Mukhtar bin Mohammed Balmukhtar, and he is known between his comrades with the kinetic nickname “Khalid Abu Al-Abbas”. The Algerian press calls him “Al-Awar – the one-eyed”, referring to losing one of his eyes during his participation in fighting against the Russians during the war of liberating Afghanistan in the beginning of the nineties.

He was born in Ghardaïa in Algeria in 1978. He went to Afghanistan in the beginning of the nineties, where the Russian forces were being breaking down on its way to defeat. There he received military training with tens of Algerians and Arabs, who were known later as the “Afghan Arab”. He participated in some military operations, before he returned to Algeria in the end of 1992, to participate in the so called “jihad against the Algerian regime” with the members of the Islamic Armed Group.

Khalid Abu Al-Abbas became known as the founder of the so called “Islamic Emirate of the Sahara” which was previously known as the ninth region that followed Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat. He was one of the most prominent from the group’s leaders who explored the Nigerian and Mali desert. He assumed for a period of time the emirate of the Sahara region until 2007, and then he remained Amir of the Al-Mulathimun (the masked ones) brigade after appointing Yahiya Jawadi as Amir of the Sahara. Despite of that he remained described as the strong and mysterious man of the Sahara, since he has a wide network of relations in the region.

His name appeared on the façade of events in Mauritania in 2005 when he led in July of the same year an attack against the Al-Magaiti military garrison and killed 17 from soldier, he also planned for several operations on the Mauritanian territory.

“Nouakchott News” met Khalid Abu Al-Abbas, and conducted with him an interesting interview, on topic relating to Libya and smuggling its weapons to the members of the organization, operations of Al-Qaeda in Mauritania and the possibility of stopping the military activities of the organization on the Mauritanian territory, as well as what has been published about his negotiations to surrender himself to the Algerian authorities years before, and the relation of his organization with the parent Al-Qaeda organization in Afghanistan.

Nouakchott News: It is said that the Sahara emirate in Al-Qaeda Organization in the Islamic Maghreb was the biggest recipient from the Libyan crisis, by arming and reinforcing its presence in the region, and that its members have fought with the Libyan rebels. It that true that you were participants in fighting against the forces of Gaddafi beside the rebels?

Khalid Abu Al-Abbas: الحمد لله رب العالمين و العاقبة للمتقين و لا عدوان إلا على الظالمين، و الصلاة و السلام على نبينا الكريم المبعوث رحمة للعالمين و على آله و صحبه و من تبعهم و سلم تسليما كثيرا ّ، شهادة حق ودين ندخرها ليوم لقاءه يوم لا ينفع مال و لا بنون إلا من أتى الله بقلب سليم. أما بعد:

Yes the mujahidin of Al-Qaeda organization in general were the biggest recipients from the revolutions of the Arab world, because these revolutions broke the chains of fear and barrier of fear that were empowered by these regimes that are agents to the West in general.

Even if we see that these revolutions in general, including the Libyan revolution didn’t reach to what is desired – which is establishing the overall righteous Islamic method in all the aspects of life – through this historical rising and heavy sacrifices – and it deserves that – that were presented by the Moslem Ummah and in particular its youth, because we see that the same secular intellectual and political system is the master of the situation but the big benefit is that the people of the region won a an important victory resembled in gaining self-confidence of capability of changing and capability of initiative and struggle.

Regarding our benefiting from the arms, this is normal in such circumstances but what is more important for us is the empowerment of the Libyan people in general and in particular enabling the youth of Islamic movement from these arms that were the striking hand of these regimes over their people.

On this occasion I would like to warn my Moslem brothers in Libya from being misled by the calls and projects of disarmament, I swear to Allah that it’s their pride and the guarantee of their security Insha’Allah.

Regarding our participation in fighting against Gaddafi in the concept of field participation, no.

N.N: Some of the fighters from Libyan rebels are accused of being linked with you ideologically or organizationally, is it true that you have comrades in arms and intellectual convictions among the Libyan rebels?

K.A.A: It’s not a secret to anyone with sight that the course of events of the revolution in Libya that the youth of the Islamic Sahwa and the Jihadi in particular were the first to confront the regime’s brigade with their bare breasts and were the first spark that gave the strong push to the Libyan people in his overall uprising.

Regarding their organizational and ideological association with us, this isn’t an accusation against the Moslem with his Moslem brother, but rather it’s a pride and honor to us and them, and that the effects of the Western occupation to our lands like the artificial borders and fake national considerations didn’t gain from our methodology and Aqeeda which from its core is that the support of the Moslem to his Muslim brother is obligatory – prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: “Support your brother if he was oppressor or oppressed” – in the east and west of the earth and because the power of the Moslems lies in their unity that the Kaffir West sought to fight it and are still.

N.N: You are engaged for years in a war with Mauritania, you were the first to begin it with the Lamgiti attack in 2005 and the subsequent attacks in Al-Galawiya and Tarwin. Why did you decide to transfer the war to Mauritania and confront it army without justification?

K.A.A: Regarding our entering in a war with the Mauritanian army, we never got in a direct war with the Mauritanian army in the traditional concept of war, but rather our operations against with the Mauritanian army were limited to some extent. Because it’s not from our policies and nor from the priorities of the Al-Qaeda organization to begin targeting these armies, but rather the declared strategy of Al-Qaeda is confronting the Crusade and Jewish West because they are the real rulers of the Moslem lands. And it’s clear and obvious in all statements and interviews of sheikh Osama rahimahullah and sheikh Aymen may Allah preserve him and the literature of the organization through its publications.

Regarding the Lamgiti operation I see that it’s necessary to give some details about it because we realized that Mauritanian people didn’t understand then our motives behind the operations, adding to that the misinformation and lies that were practiced by the regime of Ould Al-Taya their his media and press as evidenced by the statement of the Mauritanian defense ministry that claimed that we slaughtered the prisoners, and we in the occasion confirm that we didn’t slaughter any solider and challenge the defense ministry to prove that we did this act to any of the soldiers of the garrison.

The Lamgiti operation wasn’t a declaration of war against Mauritania, but it was a limited operation and for justifications including but not limited to:

a- the Mauritanian army entered on the ground in a war against the mujahidin, and the Lamgiti barrack was a base for joint American Mauritanian maneuvers.

And some of the 35 soldiers that we captured admitted about the frequentation of American forces and informed us about some of the special facilities of the Americans.

What confirms that our release to the 35 prisoners after gathering them and preaching them and giving them some letters to the Mauritanian regime at that time, and we gave the issue some study before the operation and we gave orders not to shoot anyone who laid down his arms, and we called for that during the operation.

b- the Mauritanian regime established an embassy for the Israelis in the heart of Nouakchott in a clear disregard to the feelings and dignity of the Mauritanian people and even all the Moslems – because Mauritania is the only state outside the cordon states that have a declared relation with Israel, and that stage witnessed an unusual activity of the Israeli Mossad in Mauritania like the visit of the Israeli foreign minister Silvan Shalom which angered the Mauritanian people and that was manifested in the youth demonstrations in the university and high schools of the capital Nouakchott.

It’s not a secret to tell to you that we set an ambush to kill the ambassador of the Zionist entity in Mauritania before attacking the compound that housed the embassy and the nightclub that the ambassador was present in minutes before the attack.

c- increase of the brutality and oppression on the sons of the Dawah resembled in prison, restriction and torture of many of the Uelma and Daa'iyahs, it even reached to the point of besieging mosques and shooting in it as what happened in the mosque of Osama in Arafat in Nouakchott, insulting the hijab and the veiled women as what happened to the sister that died due to the severe beating – and she was pregnant – by the security men, but rather the clear insulting of the rituals of Allah by threatening to turn the Houses of Allah to bakeries as the minister of culture said then.

d- the presence of secret prisons of the Central Intelligence Agency in Mauritania and one of them were under our surveillance and follow up and it housed a group of forces for American Marines who supervised the guarding of the building, and this issue was raised by the press and the political class then.

N.N: You say that your operations against the Mauritanian forces especially in Turin and Al-Glawiya were self-defense, and that your groups that executed these operations were searching for Western tourists and employees in the region and it were intercepted by the Mauritanian army, do you think that the Mauritanian army can give up the protection of the of its land and the foreign guests of its country to you, and when it tries to intercept you to prevent you from kidnapping or killing them, it becomes assaulting and oppressor and its soldiers deserve killing and slaughter?

K.A.A: Yes, the operations of Al-Glawiya and Turin that you mentioned were only self-defense, because the Mauritanian army were the ones to begin the attack, and we once again confirm that our primary goal in our operations are the Western and Jewish interests - economic and military - that plundered the riches of our Ummah and that we consider it a new occupation.

And anyone who stands between us and them in our operations is a legitimate goal for us, and how do we give up fighting those Westerners while they are afflicting our Moslem brothers in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine with the worst torment of killing and displacement even to the children and women and you know about the photos of Abu Ghraib. So how can we call them after that guests while they have come only to invade our lands and to eliminate our religion and plunder our riches, the Almighty says: (And they will not cease from fighting against you till they have made you renegades from your religion, if they can) 217 Surah Al-Baqara.

Regarding your mentioning that some of the soldiers were killed with that method (slaughter), we weren’t pleased with the matter when we heard about the it and consider it wrong as in the case of the mistakes of war, at the time instructions were issued from my brother the Amir of the organization Abu Musab Abdel Wadoud not to repeat that act again.

N.N: What are your demands or conditions to stop your military operations on the Mauritanian territory?

K.A.A: If you mean neutralizing Mauritania in this confrontation that purposes and goals as have mentioned, I think that this matter can be subject to study. We in principle don’t refuse it for matters that we see that this is not the proper place to unwrap and discuss it. There was an attempt in the beginning of the past year when this regime began to release some prisoners from our brothers and offered us through some of the imprisoned brothers to send a delegation of people of knowledge headed by sheikh Mohamed Al-Hassan Ould Al-Daddou – despite of our criticism – we welcomed the idea and we still are ready for meeting any delegation of people of knowledge regardless of differences in views. And we also are ready for any scientific dialogue on the methodology and fundamentals of people of knowledge to study the challenges that our Muslim Ummah is passing through.

N.N: If the Mauritanian army stopped its operations against you in the Malian territory, are you ready to stop attacking it and the Mauritanian territory?

K.A.A: Know that the entrance of the army of Ould Abdel Aziz to Mali was never an obstacle to our access to our goals in Mauritania, but quality of our goals as you know are what impose on us the location and time of execution.

For your knowledge the intervention of the army of Ould Abdel Aziz in Mali was planned and incited by France and even with a field participation as what happened in the joint French – Mauritanian attack against a company of the mujahidin and eight of our brothers were killed in it, may Allah accept them.

In a desperate attempt from the French to drag us to a war that is not from the priorities of the organization as we have said before and their agent to execute this program were Ould Abdel Aziz and the pillars of his regime and it has become evident that Ould Abdel Aziz and his army are engaged in a proxy war for France.

We in turn realized this scheme so we sought to circumvent it with an opposite plan that resembled in the attempt to strike the head of the regime Ould Abdel Aziz and the French embassy which was a den for intrigues and maliciousness for this scheme, with two car bombs that reached the outskirts of Nouakchott while the army of Ould Abdel Aziz was present on the Malian territory then, by the way these cars passed at least eight provinces but it also passed to military barracks which were in their sight and that shows that we were capable of striking the military targets in these provinces and we believe that the operation have achieved the most important political and military goal that we desired from it.

The military goal resembled in the withdrawing of the army of Ould Abdel Aziz from Mali immediately after the operation, and regarding the political goal this operation refuted the claim of Ould Abdel Aziz that he controls the borders tightly and he have transferred the battle to the bases of Al-Qaeda in north Mali.

Most of the interventions of the army of Ould Abdel Aziz incurred consecutive defeats starting with the Nouakchott operation that forced him to withdraw from Mali and ending with the military operation in the forest of Wagado where the mujahidin destroyed 12 military vehicles in the first engagement in this military campaign.

Also its interventions were characterized by insulting the people from our brothers in Azawad and it reached to the point of killing, so it killed two from our Muslim sisters and injured others in the deliberate shelling of the civilian car that carried a family with its sons.

N.N: During the past years operations of theft and robbery happened in Mauritania that targeted public funds like the money of the Friendship (Nouakchott) port in October 2008, also stealing of some government cars, and it were attributed to your followers, and it has been said that at least one of them was ordered and planned personally by you, do you believe that seizing the money of the poor Moslem Mauritanian people a jihad or something permissible?

K.A.A: We believe that the people of our country are Muslim and their blood and money are infallible and that is what we approved according to the Sharia and how can we transgress the money of the Moslems and the prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said: “O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust”.

Regarding the public funds that mentioned it’s originally are funds of the Ummah but it’s plunder by these ruling gangs and only very little reach to the Ummah.

And if we assume for argument the validity of your claim, what does the operation of the Friendship port represent when compared to the billions that were embezzled and are still bring embezzled by the ruling gangs over the many years taking advantage of its influence in the rule and this isn’t a secret to the public.

N.N: It has been said that you personally after being deposed from the Emirate of the Sahara and assigning it to the current Amir Yahiya Abu Amar, embroiled in a dispute between you from one hand, and Abu Amar and Abdulhamid Abu Zaid on the other hand, and that you spent years in a semi-truce and stopped during that the armed action against Algerian army, and you negotiated with the Algerian authorities to surrender, and these negotiations failed, so you decided to return to the armed action, how authentic is this talk, and did you really exceed the disputes between you and the new leadership of the Emirate of the Sahara?

K.A.A: Dispute as you know comes from contrast, and comes from diversity, and that in general is due to the difference of perceptions and understanding them each according to his experience and the conditions that surround its activity and how he deals with the different events and stances.

The dispute that you have mentioned is only a dispute of diversity our standard in it were the Islamic manners and ethics and mutual respect without smear and attacking each other unlike the people of passions and malicious policies. This type of dispute that we standard with the noble Sharia happened in the time of Abu Bakr and Omar and they were from the best of Sahabah in dealing with the calamities of that time.

Regarding the claim about the truce that you mentioned that is only a convert in our strategy that imposed on us to create material and tactical and moral conditions which were necessary to launch a new stage and that after a deep evaluation and revision to the experience that lasted for more than 15 years in fighting the Algerian regime.

Regarding the negotiations with the Algerian authorities and its failure, on this occasion I want to remove all doubt by saying that I didn’t enter in any direct or indirect negotiations and not even attending meetings about this subject – which the paid press promoted for the propose of destabilizing the ranks of the mujahidin and undermine the morals of the Ummah and supports of the jihad – except one meeting with one of the notables of the Tamanrasset region in January 2006 who asked to meet me in a personal initiative from him – as he said to me – and offered me in timidity something like that, and our response was clear and obvious and didn’t need interpretation, we went out and fought this regime which Malfunctioned and changed the Sharia of Allah Almighty and afflicted people with humiliation and oppression and sold the country and it’s riches to the enemies of the Ummah and insulted the honor of the Algerian people when it chose something other than Islam, which is the secular regime.

Unfortunately, the first points of the reconciliation project which was claimed by the regime and its intelligence is glorifying the officers of the army and security which the world witnessed it brutal horrible crimes against this oppressed people.

I ask you by Allah how can we leave this divine path that we are honored with, when the features of the global struggle between Islam and the Kufr are becoming clear, and we ask Allah to make us steadfast and guide our steps on the truth until we meet Him.

N.N: Is it true that you personally objected the joining of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat to Al-Qaeda organization?

K.A.A: First I want to give notice that many of the claims and delusions that were promoted by the puppet Algerian press like Al-Nahar and Echorouk, mouthpiece of the Algerian intelligence, there was a scheme behind it to pass and serve their political program resembled in the oppressive reconciliation program.

Because we understood the danger of this project we hastened the steps which we supervised by ourselves, which we began from 2000 in an attempt to unite the ranks of mujahidin with our brothers in Al-Qaeda, and from the success of Allah to us that our joining to Al-Qaeda was a political project that countered the oppressive reconciliation project.

From these steps that we took was inviting brother Abu Mohammed Al-Yemeni and his entrance with us to Algeria in an attempt to transfer a picture of the situation inside and the great Sahara.

And contacting brother Yunis Al-Mauritani (Yusuf) who was captured recently in Pakistan, which was our first direct contact between us and our brothers in Al-Qaeda, and it was the beginning of the correspondence between us and the leadership there, with other efforts of our brothers in Algerian.

I wouldn’t have mentioned these steps and initiatives if not for the many fallacies and rumors that were released by Algerian media especially about this subject.

N.N: Currently you have French hostages, the leadership of the organization linked between their fate to a demand presented by Osama bin Laden, which is the withdrawal of France from Afghanistan, are you still adhere to this demand after the death of Osama bin Laden, or you are currently negotiating on other demands to release them?

K.A.A: Yes we are still adhere to this demand, as you know that the issue of negotiating about the French have been determined by our leadership in clear demands and there has been no change in this matter until now.

N.N: Why were you insisting in the exchange of Spanish hostages operation a year ago, on the release of Omar Al-Sahrawi, and abandoned your colleagues from the members of the organization in the Mauritanian prisons, after you demanded the release of some of them?

K.A.A: Yes in the beginning our demands were releasing a group of our imprisoned brothers in Mauritania, and the only reason in changing our demands, quite simply, is that the two Spanish captives Roque Pascual (Abu Nabil) and Albert Vilalta (Abu Yahiya) embraced Islam and before them their colleague Accio Solidaria embraced Islam also and chose the name Aisha, and we released her unconditionally because of her embracing of Islam.

But the two men with entering Islam have preserved their blood so we were forced to speed the negations and accept the release of Omar Al-Sahrawi, who handing him over to us was an agreed upon issue before a period in offers presented to us.

N.N: You are always accused that you have relations with the drug smugglers in the great Sahara, and that you justify for yourselves dealing with them, with the pretext that there is nothing wrong in the drugs that that are directed to the land of the Kuffar, and its permissible to send it to them to inflict harm to them, to what extent is that true?

K.A.A: God forbid to legalize or justify making Halal what Allah has made Haram. The illegitimacy of drugs or trafficking of it to near or far and even to the land of the Kuffar is from the most obvious haram in the Sharia of Allah Almighty and this is clear to ordinary Muslims as well as we as mujahidin seeking to establish the Sharia and establish justice and the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice, peace and blessings be upon him: “Allah is good and accepts nothing but what is good”, this rumor isn’t new which deliberately intends to distort the image of the mujahidin, but rather we were accused with more than this like selling drugs and even protecting it and even that we are created by the intelligence, wa Allah Al-Mustaan, and we are not the first to be accused of that.

Regarding the claim that we deal with them everyone who knows us testifies that we warn all the peoples and tribes in this region about the illegitimacy and danger of this phenomenon that spread terribly across the great Sahara.

I want to notify that the great Sahara region which is the vital area for our activity is full of the aspects of smuggling as the activity of the gangs of weapons, bandits, drugs and cigarettes in addition to territorial and tribal fronts struggling with the governments of the region.

We deal with a clear methodology that is based on Dawah and advice and clarifying the rule of Allah and reconciliation and warning from these paths that only brought to this Ummah wars and conflicts that were unfortunately used by the enemies of Islam to strike the Moslems against each other.

From the fruit of this policy taken by the mujahidin for more than a decade that we were able to block the way on the intelligences of the Western countries – which increased its activity significantly in the region – and the intelligences of the countries of the region to drag us to clash with these gatherings and peoples in an attempt to find a justification to create militias (Sahwas) to fight the mujahidin and this is the new American and Western policy to fight Al-Qaeda and the mujahidin in general after the Iraq experience because they failed in the direct confrontation with the mujahidin.

This policy that we took as a result of long harsh experience that we suffered with the inhabitance of some regions in Algeria.

N.N: There is talk that you carried out executions against some Mauritanians for spying for the Mauritanian army, and it is said that among the dead are members of the organization, is that true, and who are the victims of these operations?

K.A.A: Yes, some of the spies have been captured and they confessed that they worked for the benefit of the department of state security and the bureau of the military intelligence and they conducted espionage activities, after investigation and follow-up from by one of the units of the mujahidin and one of them have confessed in his involvement with Mohammed Ould Makt in luring a group of the mujahidin.

The mujahidin were able to lure these people in a security operation and there was no one among them from the organization.

I would like on this occasion to give an advice to our Muslim brothers in Mauritania and especially the youth to take caution from the deceit of the security and intelligence agencies to hurl them in a war that the regime of Ould Abdel Aziz by proxy from the French against your brothers against the mujahidin exploiting your living conditions and flimsy material temptations, and that is the losing of the Dunya and hereafter, we ask Allah for safety and wellness.

Regarding their names and the details of their confessions, they are recorded and it will be published formally in the appropriate time. Finally, I would like to send from your platform a greeting to our people in wounded Palestine and all the Muslims for this great victory that this Ummah never saw such, that we are today living it in reality in Gaza of glory which we lived it’s happiness for releasing hundreds of our Moslem brothers and sisters, and a greeting of tribute and appreciation to our brothers the mujahidin of Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades and all the mujahid factions on the land of Isra and we consider them the shield of the Ummah in the face of the Zionist enemy and behind it the states of the crusader West, and this is a proof that the enemies only understand the words of arms.

We thank you for this initiative on the path of searching for the truth and conveying to the Ummah. We ask Allah for us and you success and Jazakum Allah Khayran, Subhanaka Lahumma wa Bihamdik, wa Alaykumu Salamu wa Rahmatu Lahi wa Barakatuh.

A new article of mine was published today at openDemocracy,"The Rapid Evolution of Al-Shabab's Media and Insurgent 'Journalism' ". It examines the evolution of the media output by the Somali insurgent movement Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen (Movement of the Mujahideen/Warrior-Youth) from 2007 to today. Their media has progressed rapidly and the movement's media arm currently produces extremely high quality propaganda materials.

The article abstract reads:
"The evolution of Al-Shabab’s media arm provides a window into the group’s overall maturation as an insurgent movement that has endorsed key elements of Al-Qaeda Central’s ideology while still focusing primarily on waging a domestic insurgency inside Somalia."

الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على رسوله الكريم وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين. أما بعد...

أيها الإخوة المسلمون الكرام!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

بداية أهنئ الأمة الإسلامية بمناسبة عيد الأضحى المبارك في وقت تقوم فيه الأمة المسلمة بأداء سنة إبراهيم عليه السلام، وكما أهنئ على الخصوص الذين حصلوا على شرف حج بيت الله.

وبهذه المناسبة المباركة أحب أن أذكر للأمة المسلمة عامة والشعب الباكستاني والمجاهدين خاصة بعض الأمور المهمة:

- أيتها الأمة المسلمة!

في يوم الأضحى المبارك ونيابة عن جميع المجاهدين بصفتي خادم المجاهدين في باكستان أجدد العهد أمام جميع الأمة الإسلامية عامة وأمام المسلمين المضطهدين اليوم من الحكام الظلمة والحكومات الكافرة خاصة، على أننا سننصر جميع المظلومين من المسلمين قدر استطاعتنا، وسنواصل نصرتهم والقتال في سبيل الله قدر إمكانياتنا حتى لا تكون فتنة ويكون الدين كله لله .

وعقيدتنا أن الأمة المسلمة كالجسد الواحد؛ فكيف يمكن أن يحترق جزء من الجسد و يتبرأ منه الجزء الآخر؟

ونحن نشعر بمصائب الأمة والظلم والقمع الذي يمارس عليها، فلهذا سنواصل الجهاد والقتال إلى آخر حياتنا لردعه وإزالته.

وأوجه بمناسبة هذا العيد المبارك رسالة للأمة: بأن سبب سقوط الخلافة الإسلامية ، والتفكك بين المسلمين،والظلم والإبادة التي نعاني منها، وسبب ذلنا وهواننا منذ عشرة عقود ماضية هم هؤلاء الحكام الأنانيون الذين هم عملاء اليهود والنصارى.

ولهذا أطالب الأمة المسلمة أن تنهض ضد هؤلاء الحكام البائعين لغيرتهم والذين هم أدوات الكفر, وعلى الأمة أن تتوحد تحت راية أمير المؤمنين الملا عمر حفظه الله، وتحقق حلم الخلافة الراشدة.

- ضحايا الحرب،شعب البشتون والمناطق القبلية

عندما ينشغل المسلمون بمناسبة هذ اليوم بأفراح العيد، فإن أكثر الناس في مناطقنا القبلية والمهاجرين المشردين من الشعب البشتون يعيشون عيشة المحرومين من هذه الأفراح بلا ملجأ ولا مأوى في ظروف سيئة في المخيمات, ولا شك أن تضحياتهم قد آذنت ببزوغ الفجر الساطع لأمة الإسلام, فإن قيامكم بالحق وتضحياتكم في سبيله سيعيد للأمة كرامتها المفقودة.

فقد أحييتم تاريخ الصحابة، وإن ثباتكم في نصرة المجاهدين العرب، والأوزبكيين المظلومين وغيرهم؛ وتحمل مصائب الجهاد والهجرة للدين هي التي أقضّت مضاجع الكفرة الظلمة وعملائهم حلفاء الخط الأمامي، فقد مرغتم غطرستهم في التراب، وأثبتم بقولكم وعملكم أنكم حلفاء الخط الأمامي لله ولرسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم.

ونعلم جيدا مدى الظلم والقمع الذي يمارس عليكم في أنحاء البلاد في كراتشي، والبنجاب وغيرها من المناطق ، والتعذيب الذي يتم في السجون على المجاهدين والأنصار من مناطق (سوات)، و(باجور)، و(مهمند)، و(دره آدم خيل)، و(أوركزئي)، و(وزيرستان) وغيرها. فتضحياتكم هذه لله عز وجل، وجزاؤها عند الله وحده ، لكن يمكنني أن أؤكد لكم من جهة المجاهدين أننا لم نغفل عنكم لحظة واحدة، وأننا نبذل كل ما في وسعنا لحل مشكلاتكم، ولإطلاق سراح جميع المجاهدين الأسرى، لتعيشوا حياة عزيزة وكريمة في مناطقكم. نسأل الله أن يحقق آمالنا.

- إلى الشعب الباكستاني، ومستقبل باكستان

لا ينكر أحد أنه ما حلت مصيبة في العالم الإسلامي إلا والشعب المسلم (في باكستان) قد وقف وتضامن مع المسلمين ضد الكفار, وقد أكرم الله تعالى هذه الأرض بكل النعم ، لكن بسبب كثرة المشاكل تواجهون عيشة الفقر والحرمان، سواء كانت قضية المياه أو القضايا الإقليمية والعرقية أو توزيع الموارد الطبيعية ، فإنها لم تقدم للشعب إلا الأذى، بسبب الطبقة الحاكمة الجشعة والبائعة لغيرتهم، والتي أوصلت 180 مليون شخص من الشعب إلى الحالة السيئة لتحقيق شهواتها النفسية, وتقف وراء ظهورها المؤسسات الكفرية (كالبنك الدولي ، وصندوق النقد الدولي)، وأمريكا، وأروبا والدول الأخرى، وحفنة من أفراد المؤسسات المدنية والعسكرية، الذين خدعوا الشعب الغيور بشتى أنواع الخداع.

واليوم بحمد الله، هؤلاء الحكام والمؤسسات العسكرية والمدنية تحت الحصار، وتزداد أرض باكستان تضييقا عليهم(يوما بعد يوم).

وفي مثل هذا الوقت يجب أن تضعوا أيديكم في أيدي إخوانكم في "حركة طالبان باكستان" وتنصروهم وتؤيدوهم بكل وسيلة للتخلص من هؤلاء (الكفرة) في أسرع وقت.

ولو تأملنا في مستقبل باكستان لتبين لنا أن انتهاء التعصب الإقليمي والعرقي، والتوزيع العادل للممتلكات لن يتم عبر سياسات صندوق النقد الدولي ولا البنك الدولي ولا مجموعة الثماني الصناعية الكبرى، الذين لا يقترحون إلا زيادة العبء على الشعب عبر الضرائب كالضريبة العامة على المبيعات وضريبة الكربون, فالحل الوحيد لجميع مسائلنا هو الشريعة الإسلامية, وستكون باكستان حصناً حصيناً للخلافة الإسلامية بإذن الله.

وسيستفيد جميع الشعب من ملايين الفدانات من الأراضي، والجبال المملوءة بالذهب والفضة والأنهار ذات الأمواج، التي أنعم الله بها عليهم.

إلى الحكومة، والمؤسسات الأمنية

نحن المجاهدون والمسلمون المؤمنون، وحربنا معكم من أجل العقيدة وستستمر(بإذن الله), ولقد حاولتم بشتي الطرق مخادعة الشعب المسلم، فتارة بإظهار الديموقراطية على أنها نظام عادل، وتارة بإضلال الشعب بخلط الدين بالديموقراطية. وعندما يقف أمامكم الرجل المؤمن فإنكم تهبطون إلى درجة الوحشية على غرار عمليات المناطق القبلية ، و لال مسجد ، و سوات ، و بونير، وعملية ايبت آباد.

وقد قمتم بإراقة دماء الأبرياء في أفغانستان لإرضاء الكفار، وتسليمكم العرب والأوزبك وكل مجاهد ومؤمن إليهم، وقد أضعتم حياتكم في بيشاور، ووزيرستان، وسوات، وغيرها كثير في سبيل تأييد ومناصرة أمريكا والكفار.

فحربنا معكم ستستمر، وستذلون في هذه الدنيا قريبا، وقد بدأ أئمة الكفر بخذلانكم، لأنهم استخدموكم حتى أنهكوا قواكم, ونحن مجاهدو الإسلام سنواصل الحرب ضدكم بعزيمتنا وإيماننا، وبفضل الله ورحمته لن يستطيع أحد أن ينزع منا هذا السلاح.

- الإمارة الإسلامية في أفغانستان

لا شك أن الأمة كالجسد الواحد، ونحن كمسلمين لا نقر بأي حدود دولية ولا نعترف بخط (دوراند)، ونحن جنود أوفياء لأمير المؤمنين الملا عمر مجاهد -حفظه الله-، والذي هو أميرنا وزعيمنا وقائدنا, والواقع يشهد على تضحيات حركة طالبان باكستان للإمارة الإسلامية في أفغانستان، وأن هذه العلاقة ستزداد قوة مع مرور الوقت.

- أحوال الجهاد والمجاهدين

أعلن الأمير المحترم بيت الله مسعود رحمه الله في يناير 2008م عن الحرب المفتوحة ضد الحكومة الباكستانية، ومنذ ذلك الوقت بدأت حركة طالبان باكستان بحرب مفتوحة في مناطق دير، وسوات ، وبونير، وغيرها من المناطق القبلية، مع المناطق المجاورة, واختارت الحركة الانسحاب التكتيكي من بعض المناطق، ولكن أثناء الحرب كلها لم يزل المجاهدون يشنون الهجمات على الجيش العميل لأمريكا ويثخنون فيهم بعزيمة وثبات ، وقد قمنا بتوسيع دائرة الحرب إلى المناطق المجاورة عبر حرب العصابات.

وفي إسلام آباد، ولاهور، وكراتشي، وبيشاور نستهدفهم ونستهدف مراكز وسفارات ومقرات الأمريكيين من جهة، ومن جهة أخرى يستهدف مجاهدونا الجيش في المناطق القبلية, وتمت الهجمات على المقر الرئيسي لقيادة الجيش، وبريدلين، والقاعدة الجوية العسكرية مهران، والسفارة الأمريكية، وفندق (بي سي)، كما تم اغتيال العمداء، وقادة حرس الحدود، والوزراء, ويعتزم المجاهدون في المرات القادمة بشن مثل هذه الهجمات بأحسن أسلوب.

وتتم استعادة السيطرة (من قبل المجاهدين) على أكثر المناطق المحتلة في جترال، وسوات، ودير، وغيرها من المناطق القبلية بسبب الهجمات المتواصلة على الجيش.

وعلماء الحركة يرشدون المجاهدين ويلزمونهم بالانضباط تحت الشريعة الاسلامية، ويحلون المسائل بأحسن أسلوب وفقها .

وفي الأخير أنصح المسلمين عامة والمجاهدين خاصة أن يلتزموا بالشريعة الاسلامية، وأن لا يتكاسلوا مثقال ذرة في نصرة الدين، وأن يتجنبوا المشاكل فيما بينهم ويتحلوا بالوحدة.

فجيوش الكفار(اليوم)منهزمون بإذن الله، وهم يلجؤون الآن إلى الحيلة الشيطانية الأخيرة لإنقاذ أنفسهم عبر خلق حالة من التفكك في الأمة، فلهذا كوني على حذر أمتنا المسلمة، ولا تدعي لهم سبيلا للنجاح في هذه الحيلة.

وعلى الأمة المسلمة بمناسبة هذا اليوم المبارك أن تراعي معاني أخوة المسلمين المظلومين والمجاهدين المقاتلين ضد الكفر، وأن تدعوا لهم بالدعوات الخالصة.

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

All Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the final Prophet, Muhammad, and all his family and companions. To proceed:
My respected Muslim brothers,

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

Today as the Ummahperforms the Sunnah of Ibrahim alaihi-salam, I would like to wish all Muslims a blessed Eid-ul-Adha and give special congratulations to all those performing the blessed rites of Hajj in the House of Allah. On this auspicious occasion, I would like to reach out to the Muslim Ummah in general and in particular to the people of Pakistan and the Mujahideen there, with an important message and some advice.

To the Muslim Ummah

As the servant of the Mujahideen, I on behalf of all the Mujahideen, on this day of sacrifice, would like to reassure Muslims everywhere, especially those living under oppressive regimes and kafir governments, that we will, to the best of our abilities, strive to alleviate their suffering and continue our Qitaal fi Sabilillah till there is no more fitna (kufr)on the Earth and the Deen becomes purely for Allah alone. We are firm in our belief that the Ummah is one body, and it is not possible for a part of it to be in pain and for us to be insensitive to it. The pain, anguish, and tyranny inflicted upon the Ummah is our pain, and we will continue our Jihad and Qitaal till we are rid of it.

On this day of sacrifice, I would like to remind the Ummah that our suffering in the last century, the fall of the Caliphate, the rifts created between the Muslims, the oppression and injustices committed against us and our state of humiliation are all due to our selfish rulers whose loyalties lie with the Jews and the Christians. I urge all Muslims to rise up against these agents of the kuffar who have sold their consciences; to rise above their differences and unite under the banner of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (HA) and work towards the revival of the Caliphate – a dream awaiting fulfilment

To those Affected by War, the Pashtun People, and those Living in the Tribal Areas

On this day when the Muslim Ummah is celebrating Eid, a majority of the helpless Pashtun people and those hailing from the tribal areas are living a life devoid of these joys, languishing in camps. It is indeed their sacrifices that have heralded a bright dawnof hope for the Ummah. It is your support of the truth and sacrifices in its cause that will restore the honour of the Muslims. And in doing so, you have indeed revived the history of the Sahaba (RA). Your continuous support for the oppressed Arab, Uzbek and other Mujahideen and steadfastness upon the hardships of Jihad and migration in its cause have given sleepless nights to the kuffar and their frontline allies and rubbed their noses in the dirt. Through your words and actions, you have proven to be the frontline allies of Allah (SWT) and His Messenger (SAW). We are well aware of the injustices and atrocities committed against you throughout the country, in Karachi, Punjab and other cities. We are also aware of the torture inflicted in the jails upon the Mujahideen and Ansar from Swat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Darra Adam Khel, Orakzai, Waziristan and other areas. Your sacrifices are for Allah (SWT) and only He can reward you for them. But I assure you, on behalf of the Mujahideen, that we are not heedless of your conditions, even for a moment. We are trying to the best of our abilities to solve your problems and to free all the imprisoned Mujahideen,so that you may all return safely to your homes and live with honour. We pray that Allah gives us success in our objectives.

To the People of Pakistan and Regarding the Future of the Country

There is no doubt that whenever a calamity befalls the Islamic world, the Muslim population [of Pakistan]openly supports the Muslims and stands firmly against Kufr. Allah has blessed this land with innumerable resources, but due to many problems you are still languishing in poverty and deprivation. Be it the shortage of water, provincial or ethnic inequity or the poor distribution of natural resources, the people have only suffered, and this is largely due to the selfish, greedy, conscience sellers rulers who have wronged a population of 180 million only to satisfy their unending desires. And behind all this are theinstitutions of kufr (such as the IMF and World Bank), America, Europe and other countries, as well as a handful of people ruling over us from the government, civil and military establishments who have deceived a population of 180 million people; a people who harbour in their hearts love and fervour for this Deen. However, today Alhamdulillah these very rulers are under siege in their country, and no longer safe anywhere. In such times, it is incumbent upon you all to aid Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan in every way possible so that we may rid ourselves of these rulers as soon as possible.

As for the future of Pakistan, it should be clear that the just treatment of provinces and ethnicities and the equitable distribution of resources is not possible under the policies of the IMF, World Bank or G8, whose only strategy is to impose more taxes, GST and Carbon Tax, so that the suffering of the people is only multiplied. The solution to our problems lies only in the Shariah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Pakistan will prove to be, Allah willing, a stronghold of the Islamic Caliphate. The wealth of gold and silver hidden in the mountain ranges spanning across the country, the millions of acres of land and the flowing majestic rivers have all been bestowed by Allah (SWT) to the 180 million people of Pakistan, and it is they who must benefit from them.

To the Governmentand Security Agencies

We are believing men and Mujahideen, and our war against you is one based on creed, and it will continue as such. You have repeatedly duped the Muslim masses, sometimes by presenting democracy as a just system of governance and at other times misleading them by confusing religion with democracy. But if any true believers stood up against you, you unleashed a wave of barbarism upon them, as you did in the tribal areas, Lal Masjid, Swat, Buner and the Abbottabad operation. You are responsible for the bloodshed of innocent civilians in Afghanistan and for handing over Arab, Uzbek and other Mujahideen to the kuffar only so that you may please their leaders. To serve the interests of America and the kuffar, you have thrown away your lives in Peshawar, Waziristan, Swat and many other places. Our war with you will continue and soon you will be humiliated and disgraced in this very life, and Kufr too will turn its back on you. For they have used you and can no longer see any strength remaining in you. We, the Mujahideen of Islam will continue this war with the spirit of our faith and courage, and by the grace and mercy of Allah, and no one can take these weapons away from us.

With Regardsto the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

There is no doubt that the Muslim Ummah is one body, and as Muslims we do not accept the divisions of the Durand Line or any borders. We are all loyal soldiers of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (HA). He is our leader, guide and Ameer. The services and sacrifices made by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have been proven over time and our association with them will only continue to strengthen.

News of Jihad andthe Mujahideen

InJanuary 2008, respected Ameer Baitullah Masood, may Allah have mercy on him, declared open war against the Pakistani government. Since then, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has launched a openwar in Dir, Swat, Buner and other tribal areas as well as the adjoining Frontier Region etc. Although the Mujahideen withdrew from certain areas as part of their war strategy, they are in high spirits and continuously attacking the American Puppet (Pakistan) Army, causing them heavy losses. Expanding the scope of war, we employed guerrilla tacticsin the Frontier Regions. The targets includedlocal military as well as the American offices, embassies, and bases in the cities of Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar, while in the tribal areas, their personnel continue to come under the attack of the Mujahideen. Among these [operations] were the ones on GHQ, Parade Lane, Mehran Air Base, American Consulate and the PC Hotel. Also targeted were IG Frontier Corps and numerous brigadiers and ministers. In the coming days, the Mujahideen plan even more well-orchestrated attacks. Due to continuous attacks on the Army carried out in Chitral, Dir, Swat and other tribal areas, many areas have returned to our control. The Mujahideen are under the strict guidance of the scholars of the movement, who ensure that all work is done in line with Islam and the Shariah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). All matters are resolved in an agreeable manner and in light of the Shariah of the Prophet (SAW).

In the end, I would like to advise all Muslims in general and the Mujahideen in particular to adhere strictly to the Shariah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and show no lethargy in aiding the Deen; to resolve all misunderstandings and display utmost unity. The armies of the kuffar are well on their way to defeat, and as an exit strategy will make all last ditch efforts to create rifts amongst the Ummah. The Ummah should be cautious of such traps and make sure that the kuffar do not succeed in their attempts.

On this blessed day, the Muslim Ummah should make special dua for their oppressed Muslim brothers and especially remember to pray for the Mujahideen engaged in Jihad against the kuffar.
