Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi on Role of Yemen in Present-day Events in Light of Prophetic Ahadith

Below is series of questions and answers with the prominent Palestinian-Jordanian jihadi-Salafi religious scholar-ideologue Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi published today on the web site of KavKaz Center, which has ties to the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus, militant Islamist-insurgent umbrella recently placed on the U.S. Department of State's list of organizations it considers terrorist.

Abu Muhammad, who is arguably the most influential living jihadi-takfiri scholar alive, interprets current events and the role of Yemen in them by analyzing ahadith (singular: hadith), traditions attributed to the Prophet Muhammad's sayings and actions.

Role of Yemen in present-day events in light of hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Question to Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi:

It has been narrated to us from Abdullah that Abi Thana Abd ar-Razaq narrated from al-Munther bin Nu'man al-Aftas that he said: "I heard Wahb narrating that Ibn Abbas said, the Prophet (pbuh) said: 'An army of twelve-thousand will come out of Aden-Abyan. They will give victory to Allah and His messenger; they are the best between myself and them'."

Our honorable Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, may Allah protect him, and our brothers in the forum of at-Tawhid wal Jihad:

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you. As to what follows: News might have reached you about the recent conflicts between the fighters of Tawhid and the armies of darkness and shirk in many different and expanded territories of the Yemeni province in Abyan. We are now witnessing the outcome of these events, feeling its blessings and Allah's help to the call of Tawhid and the emergence of youth from everywhere to support and assist in ways that is not even thought of. My question O Sheikh, is that in addition to what this region is positively known for socially, geographically, historically... a great hadith was stated concerning it which no scholars from amongst the Mujahideen of the Ummah had taken up the responsibility of researching its authenticity and illustrating it ideally. We concluded this after researching that in the variety of tools and means including the Internet, but the effort and time were of no avail. So would our Imam and Sheikh set out to research the authenticity of the hadith, explain it and record the benefits and connect the hadith to the reality of the Muslims today in Aden-Abyan and all of the Muslims lands? Particularly when the brothers in Yemen love the Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi and regard him as an Imam to them, rush for his books and his fatawa. And perhaps the Sheikh can address and single out the Mujahideen in Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula with his advices and instruction. Lastly: I call upon Allah to witness that I love you for his sake, O our Sheikh Abu Muhammad and I ask Allah that he gathers us in al-Firdaws al-A'la. Abu Abd ar-Rahman al-Yemeni

Answer by Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi::

All praise be to Allah and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah.

As to what follows:

May Allah love you, the one you loved me for His sake. I ask Him, the Exalted, that He keeps you and us firm.

May He use us in giving victory to His religion and not replace us. This hadith reported by Imam Ahmed in his collection and Tabarani in his Mu'jam al-Kabir and others by way of Ibn Abbas that he said:

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "An army of twelve-thousand will come out of Aden-Abyan. They will give victory to Allah and His messenger. They are the best between myself and them".

About that hadith the honorable Sheikh Sulayman ibn Nasir al-Ulwan - may Allah hasten his release - said that the hadith's chain is good and its narrators are acceptable.

Imam Ahmad narrated it in his collection and Ibn Abi Hatim in al-Jarh wa Ta'dil; and at-Tabarani mentioned it in al-Kabir. All of them by way of Abd ar-Razaq from al-Munthir ibn an-Nu'man al-Aftas that he said:

"I heard Wahb narrating that Ibn Abbas said... and he mentioned the hadith and then said: Abu Ya'ala narrated it in his collection from the hadith of Abd A'la ibn Hamad an-Narsi from Mu'tamar ibn Suleyman from the one who related it".

Ibn Adi narrated it in al-Kamil and Ibn al-Jawzi in al-'Alal al-Mutanahiyya by way of Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Atsh as-Sana'ani from the one whom related it.

Muhammad bin al-Hasan was disputed about although Abu Zar'a and others have authenticated him. However al-Aqeeli, ad-Darqatni and others have weakened him. He didn't narrate it alone since more than one narrated it from amongst the memorizers from whom related it.

Al-Munthir bin an-Nu'man al-Aftas said Abu Hatim said, "Mu'tamer bin Suleyman and Hisham bin Yusuf and Abd ar-Razaq and Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Atsh and Mutrif bin Mazin (the judge of Sana'a) and ibn Ma'een said about him that he is a trustworthy (narrator)".

Additionally, al-Bukhari mentioned it in at-Tarikh al-Kabîr and he didn't mention about it any of the Jarh or Ta'dil; nonetheless Ibn Habban mentioned it in his trusted ones.

Al-Haythimi said in Majmu' az-Zawaid that Ibn Ya'la and at-Tabarani narrated it and he said "from Aden, they are coming", and their men (i.e., narrators) are authentic ones.

Other than Munthir al-Aftas - and he is trustworthy (narrator) - his words finished there, may Allah keep him firm. His saying: "They are the best between myself and them". That is an indication to their righteousness, religion and goodness which the Prophet (pbuh) approved of, as being the best between him and them.

Also this could be a reference to the place i.e., they're the best between his place which is Medina and between Aden-Abyan.

Or it could be a reference to time and there is no doubt that this is greater. Meaning, they're the best between his time and the time of their emergence, and Allah knows best what's correct.

This is the blessing of Allah, He gives it to whomever He wills.

Some of those who spoke about this hadith said that in it there is a pleasant indication that the Caliphate could initiate in Aden-Abyan and that Yemen would be the capital of the Caliphate because armies usually move out from the headquarters of the Caliphate.

This is what they said and it is not necessarily the case. It might also mean that the Caliphate will be assisted by Yemen or that its people and fighters will come to the aid of Muslims or that it would recruit fighters and prepare such an army to repel the oppressive enemies in some of the Muslim land or to drive away an occupier or an apostate.

The hadith confirms what is mentioned in other ahadith regarding the description of the people of Yemen that they are the reinforcement for the people of Islam, they are the supporters of the truth and the people of Yemen are continuing to be so.

We have seen their assistance in Afghanistan, Iraq and in each field of the fields of jihad you see their crowds rushing to support the people of Islam.

They're distinguished with a sense of honor, rigidity and with taking upon themselves the initiative of supporting the people of Islam. Today the numbers in their crowds and assistance (towards jihad) have increased with goodness. This is so because they are endowed with insight about the believers path and are aware about the path of the criminals.

And it is also due to their abidance by the banner of Tawhid and not being deluded by anything else.

It is mentioned in another hadith that, "You will fight in the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open it for you, then you will fight Persia and Allah will open it for you, then you will fight the Romans (i.e., the West) and Allah will open it for you and then you will fight Dajjal and Allah will open it for you". And in another version, "You'll conquer the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open for you".

We reached a stage where we came back from where we first started. Now the Arabian Peninsula is governed and dominated by the apostates. Security is given to secularists, crusaders, disbelievers and atheists. War is waged against those who believe in the oneness of Allah.

Righteous people are killed and prisons are filled with them as a result of their jihad which was disrupted and fought by its rulers who have taken the Christians and apostates as helpers and protectors...

And what is happening now is that the Arabian Peninsula has become in need of a new opening... And today we are delighted by seeing the pure banner of our brothers in Yemen and they're of those fighting under the banner of Tawhid and keen on doing such things and I ask if it wasn't those men then who is it?

In the collection of Imam Ahmed and Sunnan Abu Dawud, Ibn Hawala said:

"The Prophet (pbuh) said: "The matter will be that you'll be fighters: fighters in Sham and fighters in Yemen and fighters in Iraq". Ibn Hawala said: "Choose for me O Messenger of Allah if I am around to witness that", so he said: "hold on to Sham, verily it is the best of Allah's lands. He selects for it whom are righteous from among His slaves but if you decline then hold to your Yemen and drink from the pools where the rain gathers for verily Allah entrusted for me ash-Sham and its people".

In this hadith it says that a time will come upon the Muslims that they will be equipped fighters in each land, so it isn't for the sincere Muslim except to join the fighters in their country so that they would become from among the equipped Muslim fighters, and in the hadith the fighters of Yemen were mentioned. May Allah keep their fighters firm and give them victory and use them in giving honor to the religion.

Today the enemies of the religion are enraged and frightened of the fighters of Yemen, up to the point that I have heard comments by crusader leaders a few days ago which showed their worries and fears about what they consider to be a danger that is really threatening their interests.

This is especially when they consider the geographic locality of Yemen to be a sensitive position of high importance.

Their press and news agencies reported: "The geographic position of Yemen is considered to be a matter of high importance especially since the United States and the Soviet Union raced and competed to take control over Yemen during the time of the cold war".

And regarding the airstrikes that the Americans directed to some places in Yemen, the press reports: "Yemen stands in a strategic point in relation to navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and also in the way leading to Suez cannel and on its side Somalia is located where the situation there is even more complicated".

So it isn't strange that we hear from time to time news about the spread of American airstrikes and the flying of spy planes or the attacks on positions with cruise missiles. That's because all of that proves from one side the extreme fear that Yemen's fighters bring to the crusaders and their allies and it proves from another side that the rulers in these places are just as others nowadays: they're nothing but agents for the Americans, they have no rule or dominion over their own land, sea or air except through directions and coaching from their masters.

It is not a secret anymore that America is concentrating on this area (Yemen), follows its updates closely, sends special forces to train the Yemeni army and backs up the apostate regime there against whom they call terrorists.

And in exchange for this alliance and support between those who disbelieve and whom Allah the Almighty said about:

"And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so [i.e., ally yourselves with other believers], there will be fitnah [i.e., disbelief and oppression] on earth and great corruption".
(The Holy Quran, Surah 8. "Spoils Of War", verse 73)

It is known that in Yemen, its fighters and its people have special virtues which awaken one's desire to ally, support and urge the one to favor them and increase their numbers. To the extent that Imam Muslim categorized in his sahih a chapter on "Competing for superiority amongst the people of iman and the predominance of the people of Yemen in it".

From it:

- From their virtues is the hadith of Jubeer bin Mut'am from his father that he said: While we were walking with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in the road of Mecca, he said: "They will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are like the clouds; they are the best of those on earth".

- And from them is the hadith of Abu Hurairah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are the most soft-hearted and compassionate. Iman is in Yemen, wisdom is in Yemen and fiqh is in Yemen. And the head of disbelief is before the direction of the East". Al-Baghawi said in Sharh as-Sunnah: "This is praise for the people of Yemen due to their hastening towards iman and their good admittance to it".

- And this previous hadith has an addition which Imam Ahmed mentioned in his collection that a Bedouin came to Abu Hurairah and said: O Abu Hurairah narrate to us from the Prophet (pbuh) so he said: The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Verily, iman is in Yemen, wisdom is in Yemen and I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen".

The addition of: "I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen", was disagreed about in terms of authenticity because of its exclusivity to Shabib Abu Ruh as no one attested to him except Ibn Habban.

From the people of hadith, those who authenticated it and from them who weakened it. On the evaluation of its solidity is the explanation of what Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said:

"...the saying ‘from Yemen' clarifies the meaning of the hadith that Yemen doesn't have any specialty in the attribute of Allah - the Almighty - lest to assume otherwise, but from it (Yemen) came those whom Allah loves and they love Him, those whom Allah said about:

"Whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him".
(The Holy Quran, Surah 5. "The Table Spread", verse 54)

And it was related that when this verse was revealed, it was asked about those mentioned in the verse. So he (pbuh) referred to them as being the people of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, and the authentic ahadith were mentioned like his (pbuh) saying: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen. They are the most soft-hearted and compassionate. Iman is in Yemen, and wisdom is in Yemen". And those are the ones who fought the people of apostasy and opened the lands. In them the most Merciful relieves the agonies of the believers..."

Al-Qurtubi says in his tafsir: "It was narrated that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "Verily, I find the relief from your Lord coming from the direction of Yemen", and in it there are two interpretations: one of them is that it is a relief because of them successively converting in crowds, and the second meaning is that Allah, the Almighty, relieved the sufferings of his Prophet (pbuh) using the people of Yemen and therefore they are the helpers (al-Ansar)".

Ibn al-Atheer said: "He (pbuh) meant by that the helpers (al-Ansar) because Allah relieved in them the sufferings of the believers and they're Yemenis because they're from al-Azd".

- Additionally, there's the hadith of Abu Hurairah where he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say: "Pride and arrogance is found in al-Fadadin (people of loud noise coming out from their cattle and cultivation) - the Camel-herders and tranquility is found in shepherds, and iman is in Yemen and wisdom is in Yemen".

Abu Abdullah said: "It is called Yemen because it is on the right side of the Kaaba".

- And the hadith of Ibn Mas'ood who said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) pointed with his hand towards Yemen and said: "Iman is over there. Verily harshness and hardheartedness is in al-Fadadin (Camel herders) by the origin of the tails of cows where the horns of shaytan emerge in Rabee'ah and Muder".

- And from them is the hadith of Abdullah ibn Umar that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "O Allah! Bestow Your Blessings on our Sham and our Yemen". They said: "And our Najd". He (pbuh) said: "O Allah! Bestow Your Blessings on our Sham and Yemen". They said: "O Messenger of Allah! Our Najd as well!" Then I think that he (pbuh) said in the third time: "(In Najd) There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there the horn of shaytan will emerge".

- And from them is the hadith of Thawban that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "Indeed, I am in the midst of my pool pushing people away for the people of Yemen. I hit with my rod until it flows on them". An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "This is a karamah (high repute) for the people of Yemen in their preceding to drink from it: a repayment for their good actions, their preceding in Islam and the assistance from Yemen. So he (pbuh) pushes the others until they (Yemenis) drink as they pushed in this dunya the enemies and harms away from the Prophet (pbuh)".

- And the hadith of Imran ibn Haseen who said: Banu Tameem came to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) so he said: "Glad tidings". They said: "You gave us glad tidings so give us something". So his face changed and then the people of Yemen came, so he said: "O people of Yemen accept the glad tidings as Banu Tameem didn't accept it". So they said: "We came to seek knowledge of the religion and to ask you about this matter".

- And in the hadith of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "Allah turned me towards ash Sham and directed my back towards Yemen and said to me: ‘O Muhammad! I have made for you what is in front of you as spoils and as a means of living, and what is behind your back as a support and yet Islam is still increasing and shirk is reduced and its people until the two women walk as they don't fear anything except injustice'. By whom my soul is in his hands, days and nights won't pass by until this religion reaches the status of the star".

- And the hadith of Anas ibn Malik that he said: the Prophet (pbuh) said: "The people of Yemen have approached and they are more softhearted than you". Anas said: "And they are the first to come with handshaking".

- And in the tafsir of the verses: "When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes". (The Holy Quran, Surah 110. "Succour, Divine Support", verses 1-2) that when it was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "There will come upon you the people of Yemen; they are the most soft-hearted. Iman is in Yemen, fiqh is in Yemen, and wisdom is in Yemen".

- And in the Qur'an, Allah, the Exalted, says: "O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. AndAllahisall-EncompassingandKnowing".
(The Holy Quran, Surah 5. "The Table Spread", verse 54)

Regarding the reason of this verse's revelation, Ayad al-Ash'ari said: "When this verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) pointed at Abu Musa al-Ash'ari using something that was with him and said: ‘They are his people'."

Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said in his book:

***

"And the support of Yemen whom Allah, the Almighty, said about: "Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him" at the time of Abu Bakr and Umar, crowds were coming from Yemen to fight for the sake of Allah.

So greetings are to those crowds, greetings to those supporters, greetings to those who help them and greetings to their grandsons whom we are pleased with of their revival in da'wah, jihad and the emergence of their banner in these days.

I find myself obliged with the news of Yemen's fighters - which are reported to us nowadays as a result of the visibility of their banner - to support them with inspiring (others), calling to help them and working to increase their numbers.

In mention of more virtues (of Yemen's people), the scholar of Yemen ash-Shawkani said:

"If you recognize that this verse is revealed about them in these ahadith, then know that it has contained the virtues of the people of Yemen:

The first of them: The exclusivity of Yemen's people to this great quality that Allah, the Almighty, will bring them forth at the time when others apostate from among the Arab tribes that live in the Peninsula and this is to show their high status as they are the party of Allah at a time when others leave this religion.

The second virtue: Allah's saying: "He will love [them] and they will love Him". There is nothing beyond this high reputation and honor from Allah, the Almighty, because whomever Allah loves, they attain such happiness which no happiness can resemble. They have been honored such an honor that can't be measured by the likes. They have succeeded in such achievements that aren't equivalent to others and they have been given a great repute that can't be matched.

The third virtue: Allah's saying, "And they will love Him". This is a magnificent status and a beautiful attribute. When the inconsiderable slave is loving to his Lord then that is the utmost objective in faith which is the reason behind winning an eternal bliss and it is the reason for being rescued from the painful punishment. From the greatness of loving Allah, the Almighty, and the signs of its authenticity is following the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in his sayings, in his actions and by imitating him and embracing the noble guidance that he came with. The Almighty Allah says: "Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful". (The Holy Quran, Surah 3. "The Family Of 'Imran", verse 31). Thus whoever loves Allah and follows His Messenger (pbuh), then they attain the love from Allah, the Almighty. They have their sins wiped off and their status raised among the believing slaves of Allah.

The fourth virtue: Allah's saying: "[Who are] humble toward the believers". This humbleness towards the people of iman is from the most honorable characteristics and from the greatest attributes of the believers. It is this humbleness that is praised by Allah. It raises its doer in status and in it there is eradication of many of the evil attributes of which are arrogance and egotism.

The fifth virtue: Allah's saying: "Powerful against the disbelievers". It is the result of solidness in the religion, strictness in acting upon it and the hatred for its enemies and harshness on those who go astray.

The sixth virtue: Allah's saying: "They strive in the cause of Allah". Indeed jihad is the head of the Sharia obligations. With it the pillars of the religion are established, its status is raised and the circle of Islam is expanded. The sides of kufr diminishes and its pillars are destroyed.

The seventh virtue: Allah's saying: "And do not fear the blame of a critic". This is the matter of purity and standing alone for Allah and not paying attention to what opposes the truth and differs from the religion. And it came as an indefinite noun in the context of negation (in the Arabic language), so it includes all blames that come from any blamer regardless if they're dignified or miserable, close or far. What proves this attribute is their action of commanding the good and forbidding the evil in a way that even mountains cannot reach their height and it isn't intimidated by terror. When Allah the Almighty gathered for them these honorable attributes in this verse, He reminded them of the greatness of this grant and the kindness of this favor so He said: "That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all Encompassing and Knowing". In it there are implications that He gathered for them of His blessings which He didn't bestow on other slaves of His. It is as if this is an answer to whoever desires to have these great qualities or compete with them or envy them (in a good way) because of that"

***

So what other virtues can people challenge you with after this? O grandsons of the helpers of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)! Follow the way of your grandfathers in supporting the religion and lifting the banner of Tawhid in a time when people betrayed the religion and Tawhid.

And what will harm you after this great blessing and magnificent reputation even if all gathered to plan against you and plot?

So hasten and prepare yourself. Perhaps Allah uses you in relieving the sufferings of the Ummah in our time like He used your grandfathers in relieving the sufferings of his Prophet (pbuh). Perhaps the Almighty uses you in giving victory to the religion. Become helpers in the cause of Allah as your grandfathers helped His Messenger (pbuh) and became the helpers in the cause of Allah. Perhaps He uses you in driving away the people of contemporary apostasy and open for you the lands like your grandfathers fought the people of the first apostasy and opened for them the lands.

O Allah, O protector of Islam and its people! Give victory to the monotheistic slaves of Yours in Your Sham and Yemen, in the East and West!

O Allah gather their lines and unite their hearts, direct their shooting and raise their banner and empower them and make them firm. Join us with them, and make us among those whom You love and they love You.

My New Piece at Al-Wasat: "The Global Jihad Internet Forum Launches New Sub-forum Dedicated to Anwar al-’Awlaqi: A Sign of His Growing Influence?"

I have a new post today at the academic and policy collaborative blog Al-Wasat, founded by two colleagues, Andrew Lebovich, a program associate at The New America Foundation, and Aaron Y. Zelin, a research assistant in the Department of Politics at Brandeis University.

The short piece discusses the recent launch of a new sub-forum on a militant jihadi-takfiri Internet discussion forum dedicated to the militant American preacher Anwar al-'Awlaqi, who is believed to currently be in Yemen and either a member of or affiliated with Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula. It is entitled: "The Global Jihad Internet Forum Launches New Sub-forum Dedicated to Anwar al-’Awlaqi’s Lectures: A Sign of His Growing Influence?" The post looks at whether the inauguration of this new sub-forum is further evidence of al-'Awlaqi's growing influence over a broader spectrum of militants, away from his original English-language base.

"The Global Jihad (al-Jihad al-’Alami) jihadi-takfiri Internet forum has launched a new sub-forum/section (qism) dedicated to the lectures of Anwar al-’Awlaqi (Awlaki, Aulaqi), the militant American Muslim preacher currently in Yemen and believed to be a member of or affiliated with Al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). The Arabic announcement reads: “Glad tidings, the inauguration/opening of a sub-forum/section for the lectures of Shaykh Anwar al-’Awlaqi, may God protect him.” The inauguration (or “opening [for the first time],” to use a more direct translation of the Arabic announcement) of a new sub-forum on one of the most prominent Arabic-language jihadi-takfiri Internet forums is significant in that it provides further evidence of al-’Awlaqi’s growing appeal outside of his original English-language audience base."

English Translation of Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen's Arabic Eulogy for Usama bin Laden

The Global Islamic Media Front released yesterday an English translation of Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen's (Al-Shabaab; Movement of the Warrior-Youth) Arabic eulogy for Al-Qa'ida Central (AQC) founder-leader Usama bin Laden, who was killed by U.S. military forces on May 2 in Pakistan. The Arabic original eulogy was released on May 17, as I wrote about HERE. The insurgent movement held a lengthy conference on Bin Laden's killing in Afgoye on MAY 11, which I wrote about HERE.

The Shabab al-Mujahideen Movement General Command Statement Eulogizing the Sheikh Imam Usama bin Laden May Allah Have Mercy on Him

__The Martyr was Victorious, by the Lord of the Kaaba__

We Consider Him Thus, and Allah is His Judge

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

All praise be to Allah, who said in His Perfect Revelation:
مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا
Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Of them some have completed their vow, and some still wait: but they have never changed their determination in the least. (Al-Ahzab: 23)

And may the blessings of Allah be upon His Mujahid Prophet, who said:
وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَغْزُو فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَغْزُو فَأُقْتَلُ

By the Being in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, I would love to fight in the way of Allah and be killed, to fight and again be killed, and to fight again and be killed.

And upon his family, companions, and allies. Thereafter:

With patient hearts expecting rewards in the hereafter and sure of Allah's promise, the news reached us of the martyrdom of the hero, leader, and immigrant Sheikh Abu Abdullah Usama bin Muhammad bin Laden, after he had spent his years in Hijra and Jihad in support of the oppressed everywhere. He sacrificed his soul and all that is precious without equal, such that his name was tied to the cause of the Ummah of Islam and became the hope for which many Muslims everywhere had waited in order to regain the stolen land in Beit al-Maqdis at the hands of the accursed Jews.

Today, we stand in tribute and appreciation for the man who is a nation in order to remember his benefit upon the Mujahid generation in our present era. After he drew the path and laid the cornerstone, throngs of Mujahideen are graduating everywhere. He turned the word Jihad, that had scarcely been more than an unattainable dream, into a living reality throughout the lands of the Islamic countries.

Yes, thanks to the efforts of the heroic Sheikh, the founder of Qaedat al-Jihad, the first attacks on American soil were launched, destroying their lofty buildings and shaking them in a manner never before witnessed in history. Today, the Zionist-Crusader enemy takes us into consideration a thousand times over, just as the news of the martyrdom of a man among our leading men puts them in a state of delirium in which they hope afterwards to savor the taste of sleep, even if only for a little while. But how wrong, how wrong! For who is someone who would devotedly recite the Book of Allah day and night, leave the world behind him, and bid farewell to his family and loved ones in the name of selling himself for the purpose of pleasing Allah, other than someone who loved death just as the enemies of Allah and His Prophet love life.

So, O Muslims, do not lose heart nor despair at the parting of the Imam of the Mujahideen at this time, for a human must live and die. Jihad in the path of Allah remains the best method to reach high ranks and ascension. The death of the martyr is easier than any other death, and it is the best of deaths, which the heroic leader Sheikh had always desired. He had always taken the hardest path in order to achieve it. By the Lord of the Kaaba, he was victorious, for we consider him:
مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا

in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship! (An-Nisa: 69)

And we only have to rejoice in what the Almighty said:

Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord. They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah. And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve. (Aal-e-Imran: 169-170)

And we say to America and its allies, the Almighty said:

قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلَّا إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ ۖ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَن يُصِيبَكُمُ اللَّـهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا ۖ فَتَرَبَّصُوا إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ

Say: 'Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things- (martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment from Himself, or by our hands. So wait (expectant); we too will wait with you.' (At-Taubah: 52)

And let the enemies of Allah and His Prophet know that our Jihad is ongoing until the Day of Judgment, for it is either victory and triumph or martyrdom and paradise. So let them rejoice a little, and afterwards let them cry profusely, for the lion Usama left behind him huge armies of Mujahideen who only accept living in freedom. And praise be to Allah who made our leaders and imams die on the battlefield, and their leaders and politicians die in humiliation and shame. It is sufficient for history to witness those whose names were immortalized by blood across generations and never let the eyes of the cowards rest.

Congratulations to you, our Sheikh, for your martyrdom. Sleep well, for it is time for you to rest beside the Most Compassionate and join your loved ones and brothers who came before you, such as Sheikh Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Abu Umar al-Baghdadi, Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, Abu Layth Al-Libi, and many others, may Allah accept them all, after you had written the most magnificent of heroic roles and epic battles, and after you had completely fulfilled the responsibility. We witness this for you.

A young man does not seek glory except through piety ** And does not seek wealth except from spears and swords.

Our beloved Ummah, it would do us well to commemorate this precious, blessed occasion and emphasize the story of our Sheikh's life as an example to the coming generations. We are in the direst need of smelling the fragrance of a Sheikh who spent years of his life in the service of Islam and Jihad.

May Allah have mercy upon you, O Usama. You were blessed, whether alive or dead, for you have lived the life of the free and achieved death as a free, proud man. How many beloved martyrs have you bid farewell to in the caravans of martyrs. Now is the time for us to bid farewell to you, with patient hearts expecting rewards in the hereafter, for to Allah we belong, and to Him is our return. We are sad for your departure. May Allah accept you and those with you in His highest paradise.
And we also confirm that we are continuing with the commitment, and your famous oath remains upon our necks until we are victorious or taste what Hamza bin Abdulmutallib tasted, may Allah be pleased with him. And may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

Islamic State of Iraq Releases New Video in Series "Chanting of the Martyrs" & A Note on Jihadi-Takfiri Anasheed & Poetry

The Islamic State of Iraq's (ISI) Al-Furqan Media Foundation released the second installment of its series "Chanting of the Martyrs," following the inauguration of the series in 2007. The series is made up of compilations of previously-released footage, some of it quite old, of "martyrs" from the ISI and Al-Qa'ida in the Land of the Two Rivers/Iraq (AQI) reciting anasheed (singular: nasheed), themed songs or rhythmic poems centered on religious and, in the case of jihadi-takfiris, religio-political themes. Common themes include the blessings and benefits (barakat & fada'il) of military jihad and the rewards of the martyrs.

Anasheed are an integral part of the media produced by transnational jihadi groups. In visual media productions the anasheed supplement the images in constructing a narrative. However, even for those supporters of these groups who may not understand the lyrics, melody and other aural motifs act to reinforce a release's narrative.

English Translation of #3 Issue of Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula's Series "The Martyrs of the Peninsula"

Below is an English translation by jihadi-takfiris of the third issue of the Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula martyrology series "The Martyrs of the Peninsula." The AQAP member profiiled is Nasir 'Awad Faraj al-Kanadi, also known as "Abu Khaythamah al-Hadrami." He is identified as one of the kamikaze (suicide) attackers of the French oil tanker Limburg in 2002. The translation was prepared by the Languages and Translation Department of the Ansar al-Mujahideen jihadi-takfiri Internet forum.

سيرة الشهيد Story of the Martyr أبي خيثمة الحضرمي Abu Khaythamah al-Hadrami (ناصر عوض ناصر فرج الكندي) (Nasser Awad Faraj Douman al-Kanadi)

تقبله الله May Allah Accept Him

أحد منفذي العملية الاستشهادية على ناقلة النفط الفرنسية "ليمبورج" One of Those Who Carried Out the Martyrdom Operation against the French Oil Tanker "Limburg"

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Praise be to Allah, Lord of all that Exists. Prayers and peace upon the noblest of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his household, his good and pure companions and all follow their path until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed:

Abu Hamed al-Ghazali said: “This world is a farm for the Hereafter. Region is never completed except in this world. Religion and authority are twins. Religion is the foundation and authority is the guard (of religion). That which has no foundation will one day collapse. That which has no guard shall be lost.”[1]

Almighty Allah has guaranteed the victory of this Region. No matter what obstacles are placed in front of its expansion and no matter how hard its enemies try to fight or erase its mark, its assistance will not cease, its light will be revealed, its impact will spread and it shall endure so long as night and day endure, bringing glory to the honorable and humiliation to the disgraced. Allah will send men to His Region, to support it and be victorious by it. This is the glad tidings of the Prophet, prayers and peace be upon him. Jabber bin Sumrah narrated that they Prophet, prayers and peace be upon him, said: “This Deen will not cease to exist and a band of Muslims will fight for it until the Day of Judgment.”Narrated by Muslim.

Allah has raised up for His Religion guardians and heroes to defend it with sword and spear. To assist it, they sacrifice and pay a high price of themselves and their wealth, thereby submitting themselves to the bargain struck at the hands of Truthful and Trustworthy and the guarantee is made to the seller: “Allah hath purchased of the Believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the Garden of Paradise): they fight in His Cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in Truth, through the Law, the Gospel and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.” (Al-Tauba: 111).

In our time, the banner of Jihad has once again been raised, after an awakening has spread among the men of the Ummah. The Ummah began to be aware of the goals and objectives of Jihad and to distance themselves from the banners of nationalism and ethnicity, and the banners of liberation of dirt, and defending the secular and taghut regime which traded upon the issues of the Ummah, the chief of which was the “Palestinian issue”, only to sell it in the marketplace of collaboration and negotiations, becoming a prop and support to the occupier against noble and honest people of the Ummah.

We will quickly stop at the story of one of the men of this Religion, one of its young men who was zealous for this Ummah. He is the martyr, as we consider him, brother Nassir Awad Nassir Faraj al-Kindi, also known as Abu Khaithamah al-Hadrami.

Abu Khaithamah was blessed with good conduct. He loved goodness and called people to it. In return, he was known for his strength and steadfastness in promoting virtue and prohibiting vice. In Allah, he has no fear of the blame of the blamer.

He, may Allah have mercy on him, loved the Jama’at al-Tableegh when he saw their Daw’ah, patience and endurance of injury. On the other hand, he would criticize them for their violations of Shari’ah. He would go to his work – he was a major in the Yemeni army and takes with him a copy of the book Riyadh al-Saliheen and read it to the camp. One day he was giving his lesson in the camp as usual. The commander, a brigadier, asked him on the ruling of one who has abandoned prayer. Abu Khaithamah said to him: “He who abandons prayer is an infidel”. The commander said to him, “I do not prayer.” Abu Khaithamah answered him, “Then you are an infidel”.

Abu Khaithamah kept searching for the truth, because he had not found it in the groups he was with, until Allah guided him and opened his heart to the straight path. He became acquainted with one of the Mujahideen coming from Afghanistan and decided to go there himself to strive fi sabeel Allah.

After Allah guided him to the straight path, he learned the reality of the tawagheet, the magnitude of their crimes, their suspension of Shari’ah, their alliance with the infidels and their appeal to the taghut United Nations (as a legal authority). He had previously been duped by those misleading scholars of evil who obscure from the people the reality of those tawagheet and claim that they are the rightful rulers to whom obedience is owed. We pray to Allah to save us!

Abu Khaithamah threw this world behind him, left his job and traveled to Afghanistan in order to remove the humiliation and shame from himself and his Ummah which was being assailed by its enemies from all sides.

Abu Khaithamah stayed in Afghanistan for a long time and became increasingly certain that this was the path that would lead to the liberation of the Bait al-Maqdis, Masra (night journey and ascension) of the Messenger, Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him. He persistently asked Sheikh Usama Bin Laden, may Allah protect him, to dispatch him on a martyrdom operation. He, Allah mercy on him, would pray: “O Allah, grant me martyrdom in your cause by which You shall laugh at me”.

When he returned from Afghanistan to Yemen at the beginning of September 2001, the lackey Yemeni authorities demanded his imprisonment under the charge of conducting Jihad and defending the sanctities. He escaped with his Religion, and was pursued for more than a year. He, may Allah have mercy on him, was high-minding and continuously giving. He did not tire or fatigue, and, despite his many preoccupations in that period, was always inspiring and training his Mujahideen brothers who had not been able to go forth to the land of Jihad. He was modest and of good counsel and in Allah never feared the reproach of the critic.

In October 2002, after being pursued for more than a year by the agents of the Cross, the government of Ali Abdullah Saleh and his soldiers, Allah the Exalted and Sublime allowed our hero Abu Khaithamah and his brother Abu al-Hareth al-Badawi to carry out a martyrdom operation against the French oil tanker Limburg off the coast of al-Mukalla in Hadramawt province. They massacred the Crusader enemies of Allah and their bodies were scattered in the sea to be restored on the Day of Judgment from the guts of the sea creatures.

The Almighty said: “Think not of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the Presence of their Lord. They rejoice in the Bounty provided by Allah: and with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they cause to grieve.”(Al-i-Imran: 169-170).

Our martyr, as we consider him and Allah is the judge, departed at the age of 40, leaving behind him a wife, a daughter, and his elderly mother who was more than 70 years old.

He lived a praiseworthy life and died a martyr. His reward will be Paradise, Allah Almighty permitting.

May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Khaithamah the mercy of the innocent. May he make tranquil Paradise your abode with the Prophets, the Honest, the martyrs and the Righteous – the best of all companions. We beseech Allah to gather us with you in the tranquil Paradise.

Inauguration of a New Jihadi-Takfiri Internet Magazine, Al-Yarmouk, Named after Famous Historical Battle

The Global Jihad Center (Markaz al-Jihad al-'Alami) has today released the inaugural issue of a new Internet magazine, Al-Yarmouk. The center's distributor is listed as the Al-Fajr (The Dawn) Media Center, the same shadowy transnational jihadi-takfiri network that distributes the media materials of Al-Qa'ida Central (AQC), Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI)/Al-Qa'ida in the Land of the two Rivers/Iraq (AQI).

The new magazine is in Pashtu and the Farsi dialect of Persian. It is likely named after one of the greatest battles in Islamic history, the Battle of Yarmouk, in August 636 C.E. that lasted for six days near the Yarmouk River near the modern day border between Syria and Jordan. The Muslim army of the Rashidun Caliphate, estimated to have numbered at the most 40,000 soldiers, under the command of the brillant general Khalid ibn al-Walid, defeated a much larger Byzantine army of an estimated 125,000 or more soldiers. As a result of their defeat, the Byzantine Empire lost control of the Levant and much of southern Anatolia. The Byzantine army is estimated to have lost almost 50% of its soldiers in the battle. The Battle of Yarmouk has been not infrequently mentioned by jihadi preachers including the radical American-Yemeni Anwar al-'Awlaqi (Awlaki, Aulaqi).

Afghanistan Taliban Spokesman Denies Pakistani Media Reports Mullah 'Umar Died

*Below is an unedited statement from the Afghanistan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid denying anonymously sourced reports in the Pakistani media that the movement's leader Mullah Muhammad 'Umar, the amir al-mu'mineen (commander of the faithful/believers) as he is known among jihadi-takfiris, has died.

Remarks Spokesman of Islamic Emirate regarding the baseless claims about the Martyrdom of Amir ul Mumineen

Claims and rumors were spread this morning by the Kabul stooge regime’s intelligence directorate, other officials and some media outlets that the esteemed Amir ul Mumineen was Martyred in Pakistan. We strongly reject these false claims of the enemy and we confidently encourage our fellow countrymen, Mujahideen and

the rest of the Muslims not to believe these intelligence lies and false reports. All praise is due to Allah, the esteemed Amir ul Mumineen is alive and well and is leading the Mujahideen in all aspects while living safely with reliance on Allah and with the strong backing and support of his believing nation. The enemy, with these kinds of rumors is trying to halt the devastating waves of ‘Badar’ operation and is trying to create confusion amongst Mujahideen, countrymen and faithful Muslims. With these kinds of false claims, the enemy is trying to turn away the focus of Mujahideen from their Jihadic activities while at the same time trying to boost the morale of invading and its puppet internal forces but such futile attempts will never make them reach their miserly goals. They should realize that the struggle against them is from a proud nation with strong determination who will not be turned away from their goals with mere lies and false propaganda. Our nation is an intelligent nation, who is aware of the tricks and lies of the devious and cunning enemy. No one will be able to stand against or create obstacles in the way of this nation’s aspirations and goals. God willing.

Sixth Installment of Al-Qa'ida Central's Deputy Leader Ayman al-Zawahiri's Series on Egypt

Al-Qa'ida Central's (AQC) media outlet, the Al-Sahab (The Clouds) Media Foundation, has just released the sixth installment of its deputy leader (possible new leader) Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri's series "A Message of Hope and Glad Tidings for Our People in Egypt." The new installment, entitled the "Battle of the Mus'haf," (معـــركــــة المصـحــــف) an Arabic word meaning "book" or "written volume" but often used for the Qur'an. Once again, AQC and al-Zawahiri attempt to tie themselves to the legacy of the late Malcolm X, as the deputy AQC leader did in a 2009 message about the election of U.S. president Barack Obama.

Unlike part 5 but like parts 1 to 4 al-Zawahiri does not appear on film. Footage is included of Malcolm X and current events. The deputy AQC leader also discusses Libya, though his focus is on Egypt. Al-Zawahiri's bottom line is that, as he says, "Islam is both a religion and a state [set of guidelines for governance.]" He is also particularly critical of the Sunni 'ulama of Al-Azhar seminary, who are employees of the Egyptian state. To show that he is not entirely without feelings, al-Zawahiri defends his brother Muhammad, who is imprisoned in Egypt as well as other imprisoned religious scholars and preachers.

He praises the "revolutionary youth" for refusing to meet the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, due to her government's "political hypocrisy" after supporting Mubarak until the last moment. Al-Zawahiri urges the Egyptian people to support "their brothers in Gaza" and ends with supportive words for the people of Syria, who he calls "the lions of Bilad al-Sham," (a historical name for Greater Syria) mentioning the Syrian cities of Dar'a and Hama by name.

Afghanistan Taliban Statement Blasts Decision by Kazakhstan to Send Soldiers to Afghanistan

*Below is an unedited statement from the Afghanistan Taliban.
______________________________

Statement of the Islamic Emirate Regarding Decision by Kazakhstan to Send Troops to Afghanistan

May 21, 2011

After the visit of Grossman, an American official, to Kazakhstan, the Kazak parliament decided to send troops to Afghanistan in support of the American occupation. Visibly,

it seems from the abrupt and impetuous decision of Kazakhstan that rulers of that country have shown impetuosity and hastiness in taking the decision.

They have focused on protection of American interests instead of taking into account the aspirations of their people and the regional interests.

Kazakhstan obtained its liberation and got an identity after the collapse of the former Soviet Union at the hands of the Afghan people. In a way, they ( must) remain obliged to the blessing of the Afghan Jihad and struggle. Still, if they have opted to take part in the war of the illegitimate occupation of Afghanistan, it will be their historical perfidy and an act of impetuosity politically. Meanwhile, we believe, the dispatch of a few hundred troops will not change the fate of the invaders who are already on their way to defeat. Nor they will turn the defeat into victory. However, this step on the part of Kazakhstan will leave a long-term negative impact on relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan and the region.

The Muslim people of Kazakhstan should stand against this wrong policy of their rulers and should not let their believing Muslim sons fight against their Muslims brethren from the bulwark of Jews and Christians.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reminds the Kazak government and people to reconsider their decision. Obviously, in a time that the invading countries of the world are trying to find justification to flee Afghanistan and the European parliaments are demanding withdrawal of their troops, the Kazakhstan decision to enter the war will yield nothing except negative consequences.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan Taliban Statement about Casualties in Anti-NATO Demonstrations in Takhar

*Below is an unedited statement from the Afghanistan Taliban about recent anti-NATO demonstrations in Takhar in northeastern Afghanistan.
__________________________

Statement of the Islamic Emirate Regarding the Martyrdom of Demonstrators in Takhar

May 20, 2011

On 18 May, tens of defenseless civilians were martyred by the enemy in Takhar province in the north of the country, as a part of the drive launched by the internal and external enemies all over the country to kill, maim and torture the miserable Afghans. The invading forces martyred 4 innocent countrymen including two women during a raid in Gaw Mili neighborhood, in vicinity of Talugan, the provincial center on May 18.

As a reaction to the incident, the brave people of Takhar took to the streets in Taluqan city to express their anger and wrath, demanding that their grievances must be addressed. It is to be said with great sorrow that the internal and external enemies of the Afghan believing people turned this indigenous popular agitation into a tragedy. According to a recent report from the Taluqan city, more than 25 demonstrators have lost their lives during the brutal firing of the foreign troops and the local hirlings while 100 of them have been wounded. It is ot be said that this incident is occurring in a time that many self-same incidents have taken place in the current month of May as follows:

  1. A few days ago, the enemy martyred civilians in Hissarak, Nanagarhar province and following that, they mercilessly quashed the common Afghans who had staged demonstrations to protest against the incident.
  2. The invading troops martyred 5 civilians in Saidano village near Tarinkut, the provincial center of Oruzgan on May 18 during a raid on the civilian’s houses and detained 14 persons.
  3. The invading forces opened fire on a group of children in Ghazi Abad district of Kunar province on May 16, martyring a child and injuring 3 others. The officials of the puppet Administration have also confirmed the killing and injury of the children during the said incident.
  4. On May 16, the invaders bombed civilian’s houses in Abdur Rahim village, Andar region of Ghazni province, martyring 3 civilians and injuring 5 others.
  5. 5. They raided civilians’ houses in Lajgar village, Hissarak district, Ningarhar province, on May 14 to search their houses. When they found nothing during the house search, they opened fire on a ten years old boy , Bilal son of Awal Gul who was fast asleep at the time, martyring him on the spot.
  6. On May 6, the invaders dragged a well-known spiritual personality, Sayed Gul Jan Afghan, out of his worship chamber in Rabat Sangi district of Herat province, martyring him forthwith. He has thousands of disciples and followers.
  7. They martyred a tribal chief during a house raid in Omarzi village , Sang Atash district, Badghis province and detained two other tribal chiefs.
  8. On May 1, the invaders martyred 2 children and 3 women in Fandi area of Baraki Barak district, Logar province by targeting them with rounds of mortars.

While condemning all the past crimes of the enemy, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in the same terms, strongly condemns the acts of the foreign troops and soldiers of the Kabul Puppet Regime for their opening fire on defenseless people in Taluqan. The Islamic Emirate considers this an a horrendous act and unforgivable crime against humanity. The internal and foreign enemies of the people of Afghanistan must understand that such brutal acts will give a new impetus to the uprising instead of weakening the spirit of independence among the masses and will lift the curtain from their faces which are hidden under the spurious ( slogans) of philanthropy.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, through this statement, calls on the people of Germany to prevent their government and the invading troops involved in the incident in Taluqan from killing innocent Afghans and committing genocide. Similarly, the human-loving nations of the world should end their acquiescence because of their vested interests when it comes to the daily crimes that are perpetrated against the Afghan people by the invaders. Rather they should not let the invaders play with the life of innocent people.

The human rights organizations of the world should not harm their credibility at the hands of NATO invading forces by turning a blind eye to these atrocious activities. They should courageously expose the atrocities of the tyrants and should not opt to publish biased reports and figures as they did in the past—and thus embolden the invading forces in their brutal acts. Similarly, we call on independent and neutral media outlets, not to remain silent about these brutal carnages. Meanwhile, we are grateful to media outlets that raised the voice of the oppressed people regarding the yesrtday’s incident .

To end, we pray to the Almighty Allah to bestow patience, resolve and better substitute on the families of all those who have been martyred by the invaders throughout the country, particularly, the families of the victims of Taluqan incident. May Allah, the Almighty accept in His Sight the martyrdom of the martyrs and favor the injured with a speedy recovery.

English Translation of Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb's Eulogy for Usama bin Laden

The Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF), a shadowy transnational jihadi-takfiri media outlet that produces mostly translations, released an English translation of Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb's (AQIM) eulogy for Al-Qa'ida Central (AQC) founder-leader Usama bin Laden. The original Arabic statement, which I wrote about HERE, was released on May 8, two days after AQC verified Bin Laden's killing by the U.S. military in Pakistan. AQIM was the first of AQC's three regional affiliates to issue a eulogy.

Al-Qa'ida Central's media outlet, the Al-Sahab (The Clouds) Media Foundation, released the last recorded audio message from its late founder-leader Usama bin Laden today. The message addresses the popular uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt by the majority of the populations against former autocratic presidents Zayn al-'Abidin ben 'Ali and Hosni Mubarak.
