Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula Denies Involvement in Bombing of Aden Sports Club
Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP; Qaeda, Qaida) issued a statement on November 5 (Nov. 6 in Yemen) denying involvement in a bomb outside of a sports club in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden on October 11. The statement lists a number of reasons why AQAP would not carry out such an attack. Read Princeton doctoral candidate and Yemen/AQAP expert Gregory Johnsen's analysis on the statement at his Yemen analysis blog Waq al-Waq.
