Brigades of 'Abdullah 'Azzam in the Levant Claims it Placed Kamikaze Bomber on Japanese Tanker Damaged in July 28 Explosion

The Brigades of 'Abdullah 'Azzam (BAA), a transnational jihadi-takfiri group operating in the Levant, has claimed that an explosion on a Japanese tanker, the M Star, owned by Mitsui OSK Lines on July 28 was caused by a kamikaze bomber. In a statement posted late yesterday (Aug. 3), the BAA named the attacker as Ayyub al-Tayshan. A copy of the statement is below.

A branch of the BAA, the Battalions/Brigades of Ziyad Jarrah, operates in southern Lebanon. It is named after one of the September 11, 2001 hijackers who was from Lebanon.
