Al-Qa'ida Central's Al-Sahab Media Foundation Releases New Audio Message from its Recently-Killed General Afghanistan Commander, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid

Al-Qa'ida Central's (AQC; Qaeda, Qaida) media outlet, the Al-Sahab (The Clouds) Media Foundation, released a new audio message from its recently-killed general commander in Afghanistan, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid. The group announced his "martyrdom" in a May 31 statement distributed through the Al-Fajr Media Center, a shadowy transnational jihadi-takfiri media and distribution outlet that handles all of the media material from AQC, Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), and Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). The audio message, which was released as an mp3 (embedded below) and an audio message played with a static background, is entitled مَــنْ جَــهَّـزَ غَـازِيًـا فَـقَـدْ غَـزَا, or roughly, "(He) Who Prepared to be a Traveling Warrior (Ghazi) Has Strived/Aspired".

The Egyptian al-Yazid, who was long AQC's financial manager, was reportedly killed in a United States unmanned drone missile strike along with his wife, three daughters, and a granddaughter in North Waziristan in Pakistan's Pashtun tribal belt. He was also known to be one of AQC's liaisons with the Afghan "Quetta Shura" Taliban headed by Mullah Muhammad 'Umar (Mohammad Omar).

The audio message is embedded below. A transcript is available via my Scribd account HERE.
