Jama'at al-Tawhid wa'l Jihad Blasts Israel, the Palestinian Authority, & HAMAS in Statement on Israel's Armed Interception of Gaza-bound Flotilla
Jama'at al-Tawhid wa'l Jihad (Group of Absolute Monotheism & Struggle) in Bayt al-Maqdis ("Holy House," referring to Jerusalem specifically and Palestine generally), a small Gaza-based jihadi-takfiri group, released a statement yesterday on Israel's armed interception (some say attack) on a Gaza-bound flotilla composed of a number of ships carrying humanitarian aid, though the government of Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu accuses the flotilla of having "links" to HAMAS and even Al-Qa'ida Central. The statement accuses the Israeli government of perpetrating a "massacre" on the lead ship, from Turkey. However, Israel is not alone in bearing the brunt of Jama'at al-Tawhid wa'l Jihad's accusations. The group also takes aim at both the Palestinian National Authority, dominated by Mahmoud "Abu Mazen" 'Abbas' Fatah party, and the HAMAS government in Gaza. Israel's allies and the corrupt Arab autocracies are also criticized.
The group released its charter, "Our Creed," last November and since then has released a number of videos, including some showing the production and prepping (to fire) of primitive rockets. It also released a video interview with its spokesman, Abu Ibrahim al-Ansari.
