Jama'at al-Tawhid wa al-Jihad (JTJ) of Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem/Palestine) has released its charter of sorts entitled, "Our 'Aqidah ('Aqeedah)," or approximately, "Our Creed" or "Our Doctrine," (عقـــيــدتـــنــا) It joins the several other small, jihadi-Salafi outfits currently operating in the occupied Palestinian Territories, primarily in the Gaza Strip.
The group released a short video on November 2 entitled "Border Guards" that included footage of an IED attack on what appears to be an Israeli military or police vehicle near the "security barrier" (part high-tech fence, part massive wall) that runs through the West Bank. This suggests that JTJ has a presence in the West Bank, whereas most of the other Palestinian jihadi-Salafi groups, such as Jund Ansar Allah ["Soldiers of God's Partisans"] and Jaysh al-Ummah ["Army of the Nation"], are based primarily if not solely in the Gaza Strip.
The JTJ video also includes criticism of HAMAS, the largest Palestinian Islamist (political Muslim) group, which has been excoriated by transnational jihadi-Salafis for its August 14 battle with Jund Ansar Allah at the Mosque of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in the southern Gaza city of Rafah. I have written about this HERE. In the video, HAMAS is compared unflatteringly to the secular Palestinian Fatah party led by Mahmoud 'Abbas.
Watch Border Guards
I have written previously about these groups and particularly Jund Ansar Allah HERE and HERE.
