The Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) has released the thirty-eighth issue in its series of martyr biographies, "From the Biographies of Eminent Martyrs." The short profile outlines the life and accomplishments of Abu Usama al-Tunisi ["The Tunisian"], who traveled to the fields of warfare in Iraq. These accounts have been termed "martyrologies" by scholars, and are among the oldest and most important type of literature produced by jihadi movements, dating back to the the 1980s war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.
